How good is Torque 3d for next gen games

Hy there. I would like the get a sincere answer from you (the community or Torque's developers) if it's possible, because in the past week I've been looking all over the internet for finding a game engine that has the features that we need to accomplish a very good game. Me and my friends are interested in making a game, that can compete visualy with top names. We all work in the game industry for quite some time now and we think that we have the necesary skills for making this project come to life. We have the story, we started to model the caracters and the environment, but we can't decide what engine to use. Torque seems preety nice from the description but can it bee adapted to our needs? How can it handle interior scenes, or transition betweem indoor and outdoor? The editor can be modifed if we think that we need something else that it's not there? Or i haven't seen anything about the AI, probably this will have to be programmed, i think. I had a look at Unity engine site, and Virtools, Quest 3d sites but I don't think that the game we want to make can be done with those engines. Our game will have outdoor and indoor scenes, mainly cities, we want the player to be able tu drive a car or a motorbike (not randomly, but chosen by us, the developers). This are a few of the things I want to know, and probably in the near future i will come back with other more. Thank you, and hope you can help us

2. Anything in the editor/engine can be changed/manipulated because: You get all of the source for anything game-dev related(engineC++ and all scripts). (The only source not included; will be for the T3D Toolbox which is not even a necessary item for development, it is a frivolous, helpful inclusion to most people.)
3. AI: there is probably basic-basic AI included. There are a few starter resources for improving that basic-basic AI. There is a starter AI kit in the GG store for $27. However, the one that should take the engine to a new level will be Yuri's/LogicKing's "GuideBOT". You will have to complete your AI, in some way, of course.
4. Car/Bike: You can do whatever you want. ..in C++, script or both.
There are several great indy engines out there. T3D is in the top 3 for the "under $1001 price range". When you add in the additional but separate tools, add-ons for the engine & the community: it becomes 1 of the top 3 "indy" engines.

1. Transition for indoor/outdoor: There are 'Zones' and 'Portals'..however, the docs for their respective/proper uses are not complete at this point. I have seen framerate increases from their uses but I have not bothered to scientifically figure out their correct use yet(I am waiting on docs to make life simpler).2. thank's very much for the infos. I think that we will stick with Torque. Though i have some questions about the prices. What is the difference between studio and pro besides the fact that studio edition allows benefits over 250 000 dollars. I meen the license is per programmer in case of the pro edition?

Pro is locked to an individual's name. Can't be transferred. When you start to need floating licences, I'm sure you can also afford it ;)

It's the licence you're paying for, so there are different requirements from a physical object. Studio can be transferred between individuals within a company, so you could have five floating licences for programmers you hire & fire.Pro is locked to an individual's name. Can't be transferred. When you start to need floating licences, I'm sure you can also afford it ;)

I didn't purchase T3D as a "hobby" engine.
It wasnt a light decision.
I own licences to 3 engines, including T3D, all in a similar price bracket.
this IS the best out there in its range. thats it.
and its only still in beta!!
the things you mentioned above are all possible here.
I would say go ahead, buy, it will be the best investment you've made in a while.
I've needed sooo many changes made, and the support you get from the staff and community is awesome.
go for it.
