Testing out some simulation/rendering abstraction for particles. Hooked up a system of 150 point lights to the PhysX fluid simulation to create a "lightfall" in the desert.

@Michael - James did hook them up into the procedural materials... he just didn't finish the work and add the animated normals like i asked him. ;)

Ah! In that case, awesome work all around -- it's pretty damn impressive!

Multiple representations of the same system data; lights, and wireframe boxes. The wireframe boxes will only draw for every 9th particle emitted, demonstrating the selective representation capabilities.

if you watch it in the dark, you'll see the animated hands steering the wheel, another effect to add a bit of realism.

Cool stuff! Is that just an animation or do you have some code in there too?

the hands are parented to the wheel, so they move as it turns, but keeping the shoulders in the same place.

just animation, they are IK rigged, skinned arms.the hands are parented to the wheel, so they move as it turns, but keeping the shoulders in the same place.

Progress on a bad guy, I lost the UV textures cords on the backpack along with the bottom of his left foot and it looks like the hair just doesn't look the same after the Maya to Max process(Me & rigger/animator man uses Max) so I will just wait till the team gets to it but it renders OK so I figured it be cool for a post. 11k Tri's
