contra on iphone

When is someone going to make a contra app for the iphone? I don't understand why this hasn't been done yet. Contra is my favorite game of all time and I want to be able to play it on my iphone. It would also be nice if the game would make it so I can play my own music downloads while playing like a lot of other apps do.
How hard is it to make applications for the iphone when the game is already made?

Dang that sounds like quite the process. I'm not really saying that I want to make the iphone application although it would be cool if I new how to do that. I'm saying that there have been a lot of classic games that have done this and I was wondering if there was some reason why contra hasn't done this yet.I feel like it would do extremely well.

Then you have to have a crack team of portable developers who understand the hardware limitations intimately and can rework the original source code, which may be in any number of languages often including console target specific assembly language.
Then you have to hope that people will buy it in droves to help pay for the expenses you have accumulated.
Or you could get an upper-level job at Konami and push for a mobile division to work on it. They have it available on some platforms, but would most likely require a complete overhaul for it on the iPhone.
