Box2d and TGB

For those who are interested I found this link and am giving it a go. It's definitely not for the faint at heart but it seems like an excellent project for those who want a faster and better physics engine than TGB currently supports.

A lot of us that own iTGB never read the TGB forum, so it is news to us.

It would be great to see how it's working out for you.

I'm attempting the same thing. If you've got any pointers or suggestions on getting it to work, I'd love to hear it!

I've given up on iTGB it has too many flaw to be a good game engine for anything other than basic puzzle games or other non-framerate sensitive games. I'm only currently using it to support the one game I developed on it.

I'm on track to port my half done game because I'm more than just completely disappointed by the 1.3 Beta releases un-quality. I thought 1.2 was as bad as releases can become ... well I was wrong wasn't I. I'm just not willing to burn even more time on fixing and optimizing a tech that was meant to be used on an iphone but is targeted at an ION netbook.

Hopefully you will still use iTGB for some smaller games and stick around longer.
In any case thanks again for all the help.
Please stay :)

I'm sad to see both of you leave. I can't possibly count the amount of times you helped me out.Hopefully you will still use iTGB for some smaller games and stick around longer.

I will likely just not use it for any real project for the time beeing.
I just don't have the time to do custom merges of 1.1, 1.2 and user resources to get something that is performant enough for my use, at least not at the time.
I fully understand and agree that iTGB can't offer all out of the box, thats just insane and I don't want it to do that anyway as it means I would have to ripp out half the stuff again.
But I expect it to do its job and thats offering a solid, performant, optimized technology to create my games upon and thats exactly the problem at the time. I know that this is known and worked on but that sadly doesn't make the technology in its current state more usable for what I would like to use it.
For that reason waiting and checking by here on a regular base (you will still see me at least once per day here, as I go through the TGB, iTGB, T3D and AFX boards at least once per day) is all I likely will do in relation to iTGB in the forseable future.
EDITED this posting to better reflect what I wanted to say than what could be interpreted.

I learned a lot from working with iTGB and I'm close to breaking even already on the purchase. While I'm greatly disappointed in what I got for my money I do feel I got the bare minimum of my money's worth.

I'm not leaving either, I'm just not going to waste anymore time on iTGB until the new version comes out late next year with an optimized 2D technology. I'll consider it again. I'm just going to use another game engine while I wait for this one to catch up.I learned a lot from working with iTGB and I'm close to breaking even already on the purchase.
