Terrain Material Boundary Weirdness

There seems to be some artifact happening when a boundary between two base, detail, and normal mapped terrain materials falls within a shadow.

Here is the terrain when not falling in a shadow.

Here is the terrain when falling in a shadow.

You can see the highlighted brightness between the two materials. This is an artifact.

I've noticed stuff like this in terrains here in the office. I'm working on the issue.
