Zoinks! I'm busy!

I've been slaving over the network code in our project Zoinks!. I am trying to build a fairly flexible system so that I can use it in later projects be they an rts or a fps. I think I am going to spend a lot of time this weekend profiling some of the different network schemes I have researched and see which approach best suits me (there is never any one right way to do anything in programming =). I hope to have a stable networking system in place so that we can get down to some serious multiplayer action. Unfortunately, B&W is coming out next week and I have a feeling that productivity on our project is going to drop some for a little while =) Course Tribes II isn't going to help either! But you can't make games if you don't like to play games so its all good!
There is a possible job change in the works for me. I am currently doing 2nd tier tech support for an Oracle database frontend (mad fun...) I went in to an interview for a web development/tech support job for the company my wife works for and it looks pretty cool as long as I don't end up taking a big pay cut (I'm not exactly well paid as it is). The biggest hold up I have is that they really don't want someone who will be there for only a year or two and then leave them. I simply can't make that promise b/c I would quit the instant someone offered me a game development job (Pleeeeease! I'll be good! I promise! =) I am in my job now simply to pay the bills while I hone my mad game programming skills (I get some free time at work) and look for a game development job. Oh well, I know it'll work out in the end and after I pay my dues, I will finally be able to get paid for what I love to do for free!
