Plan for Melv May

Had such an amazing time at IGC. A real privilage meeting the GG guys and so good to finally put those names to faces.
I'm now collecting all the images with names on them so that I've always got a reference for the future.
I used the time creatively travelling back and designed myself a simple game to create over the next couple of months.
It's about time I did this so expect something in about two months or so. I'm going to request a small amount of art/models/sound from the community in a couple of weeks but in the meantime I can get away with programmer-art.
Look forward to the next years work and the following IGC!
All the best,
- Melv.

To be honest, I didn't even do a single line of code for City of the Dead. I accepted the lead programmer role for them and was looking forward to it but it turned into an uphill struggle simply getting a design document from the team. The vision was the classic case of sticking bits of other games together to create a new product.
Suffice to say, it didn't evolve into anything and went on for over a year. I had little communication with the 'team' over that period and got on with my own things.
There was some cool artwork but no code created unfortunately.
My game will be a game designed and implemented by a single person with art/sound from a few others after the main codebase has been done so there should be no hold-ups.
I'm working on it right now and I'm getting very excited about putting it together.

Ugh, yep been there done that. I've "worked" for 2 such teams where nothing got done, terrible communication, etc.Best of luck on this one.

BTW, did you ever finish that game, what was it called, City of the Dead? I remember checking their site some time ago and it no longer was there.
Anyways, good luck with your game.
