Plan for Melv May

As you know I have been doing various work on and around the Torque engine. I've pretty much had my fingers in every part of it in the hope that I can get a better understanding of how it's all strung together.

Alongside this I was working on "City of the Dead" which was, until now, dead in the water. Unfortunately, things on the project have been going very slowly due to the teams other commitments and I was getting frustrated as I personally have plenty of time free to work on it. To this end I have decided, reluctantly, to part ways with them. It was not an easy decision as I don't like breaking my promises to people and have been committed to the project for over 12 months. I do wish them all the luck in the furture.

The good side to all this, and it couldn't of come at a better time, is that I can now dedicate serious amounts of time to improving parts of the engine. I'm giving myself this weekend to think over how exactly I will tackle the tasks at hand and then it's full steam ahead.

It will be more than likely that the first task will be to improve the fluid rendering system as I have already started work on this and would like to finish it. I'm currently working on using shaders (where hardware permits) to produce the surface effects.

I look forward to working FOR you all.

Congrats, Melv!!! And thanks again for your awesome work so far...!
Too bad that you had to leave your team ... but not *really* bad for the GarageGamers, as you've got more time to work on the engine now... hehe ;-)) Anyhow, the "City Of The Dead" artwork and stuff I've seen looked really promising... hope they will finish it sometime...
