ripple textures
These textures are used for the water objects; the water plane/block and river objects. There are 29 square and 3 rectangular normal textures in all.
The square normal textures are standard 'ripple.dds' textures. Have fun swapping the textures out, one change to the ripple texture can produce extreme, or subtle changes.
The rectangular normal textures are great for simulating a slow and wide river's surface simultaneously displaying rough and smooth spots that are the result of wind, vortex effects and 'micro currents interacting with one another. They impart a 'layered current' feel and add sparkles of light for a very natural look. They look great in rapids as well. Not for water block/plane objects.
Increasing or decreasing the ripple magnitude and overall magnitude variable(s) will further enhance it.
particlesWhat waterfall would be complete without particles? Comes with several different particle emitters for water effects: falls spray, bottom spray, splashes, mist and 23 different particles.
sound
Both 3D and 2D sounds come along with the kit, all are in Ogg Vorbis format and are not streamed by default. All samples LOOP. Many of the 2D sounds are also 3D sounds -this allows for ambient or directional simulation of the sound source. They are:

terrains and terrain textures
terrains
A DEM (digital elevation model) terrain of Cape Lookout. The resolution of the original height data supplied by the USGS (US geological survey) was in 1 arc second. This resulted in a very high resolution terrain. It is detailed enough that I recognize the roads that I myself have traveled in real life in this terrain; terrain is reused to illustrate the vast differences in feel by a simple lighting change and different type of ocean.
A terrain generated in L3DT professional. This level is the 'heavy hitter' so far as post processing, poly count, shader usage, water and particle effects and so on. Uses most of what is included in the same level. Simple lights are used to demonstrate how they can be used to enhance or change the feel of the area.
height map and terrain from the 'painting a level from scratch' video. I thought this might be fun to throw in for playing around with different height settings and terrain square sizes. The video shows exactly how this is done, a bit on the speedy side admittedly. One height map can look completely different just by the height/square size ratios.
terrain textures
20 unique textures 60 in all (including: diffuse, detail and normal). Many of them can be mixed and matched -including normals- for completely different effects. In fact, its encouraged for one to do so.
decal road and path materials and textures
the decal roads/paths are excellent ways to further direct a player where to go or, perhaps, where not to go.
mission files
Kit comes with six unique missions to demonstrate a rich diversity of lighting, environmental effects, terrain textures and so on. Some of these missions contain a blank level, they are there for prototyping your own ideas with several options of base lighting scenarios etc.
shaders
underwater distortion and caustics shader

Ron Kapaun has generously allowed me to include his community resource in here for your convenience. Its an awesome looking shader and really adds a nice touch to the final underwater renders. Here's the original post:

level info fog
I've modded the Level Info fog shader to allow the far plane to be obscured. Anyone can do this now:
remove or comment-out the line that looks like this in fogP.hlsl:
//float2 prepassCoord = ( IN.uv0.xy * rtParams0.zw ) + rtParams0.xy;
float depth = prepassUncondition( prepassTex, IN.uv0 ).w;
//return float4( depth, 0, 0, 0.7 );
// Skip fogging the extreme far plane so that
// the canvas clear color always appears.
// clip( 0.9999 - depth ); comment-out this line here;
voila! Fog to the horizon.
If you want to do this now to your own levels, you can find the shader in this directory:
game/core/shaders/common/postFX/fogP.hlsl
set the fog atmospheric height to 20000 or higher and the result is a much more natural fog.

Actually, most everything looks like VT in the pics... Long Trail too. Ever try that microbrew? I see the view every day. What A great resource for those less fortunate.

No, that last image is impeccable. I can see how the tree has eroded at the roots and tipped in shallow ponding, growing new branches over the course of a decade. It reminds me of a tree that built air roots to support the new growth which used to exist at the lower part of our property in Vermont. Actually, most everything looks like VT in the pics... Long Trail too. Ever try that microbrew? I see the view every day. What A great resource for those less fortunate.
