Building a level from scratch

Nothing fancy here, just a quick video to show what one can do "out of the box" with Pacifica. I painted a quick height map and used that for the terrain. Watch the ocean ripple texture change near the beginning. There are over a dozen textures to choose from; there are also several river normals to choose from as well. Just a simple normal can have vast changes to a liquid's surface. You might notice that I'm using very few of the forest brushes that are availabe (and the ones in the video are only a small portion of what is available.
Although Pacifica is ment to be a huge box of "Legos," I also have "break-out" packs: much smaller and focused model/texture packs that are extracted from the Enviros in question. "Add-on" packs will also become available in time.
So here's the vid:

Oh, the more "accellerated" parts didn't render as clearly as I would have liked, I think I had anti aliasing on (I'm using Blender to do videos and its a bit tricky to say the least...)

I think this is the first time I have seen a demo video done inside an editor completely. This is well done!

Great video capture, great editing, great music, awesome level!

So, where's the bloody buy here link? Also, what was that terrain at the very end, obscured by fog? Looked like you got some nice erosion and texturing going on there. Great presentation.

JR,

Very well done. I watched the entire video and honestly even though it deals with your work specifically, it's still a great video tutorial showing how the editor tools work. Good for any new people to take a look at actually. Very cool.

@Dan,
The terrain is the same terrain as in the "DEM big lands" video. Its Cape Lookout, here in Oregon. A little fogging and some texture swaps and its almost a new level.
@Ron,
Your words mean a great deal to me, as I respect you so much, thanks.
@Buy Button,
I'm hoping for 1.5 weeks -borked my site somehow, among other little blow outs here and there.

I saw a lighting!!! :o)

Nice video, great comb of workflow and music. You see this is how Torque 3D is going to be presented to the young guard of next generation Torque users.

The video is oooozing of speed, hightech, coolness, awesomeness and "this is the future of game development" feelings.
