Forester Pro is a 3D tree, shrub and grass model creator for Torque3D which produces models that import seamlessly into the world editor complete with LODs and collision meshes. Forester Pro generates randomized models from templates, and allows you to create your own custom templates to make new tree types. Template packs, featuring over 70 types of tree, shrub, fern and grass are also available.

We've just released Temperate Plant Pack 1 which features templates for: stinging nettles, broad-leaf docks, milk thistles, harts tongue fern and prickly lettuce. A scene created with the plant pack is shown below.

Template packs are $10 each. The registered version of Forester Pro is $20.

We've also just released version 1.21 of Forester Pro which features improvements to normal generation of plant and tree models with double-sided planes. Updates are free and can be applied to the registered and free versions of Forester Pro.

If you've already installed Forester Pro you can get an updater here:

You can also download a free version of Forester from our website featuring 7 free tree types.

Haha, Lukas, I was about to say the same thing! This product has always looked fantastic - I just don't have a need for it yet!

A question: I found the billboard function and the billboard size is limited to 800 pixels, what is the reason for this limit? Can't this be stretched to 1024 ?

Hi Duion,

You don't need to create separate billboards for Torque3D. If you check the billboard option during export to Torque3D Forester Pro will set imposter to on in the script files in the export directory. The billboards (imposters) will be created by Torque3D during import.

However, to answer your question....it is a limit based on minimum screen resolution....I'll increase it on the next release if you'd like. However, why do you want billboards images so large? The idea behind a billboard is it replaces the model at great distance and is supposed to be small.

Best,

To render down the trees to a nice picture. I will explain when I got time and my idea will work.

For a temporary work around you can always set the backcolor and hide the axes then take a screen shot. The max size will then only depend on your screen resolution.
