Divorce

Wow! Just noticed that I have been a member here for just over a year....seems like yesterday...
For those of you who don't know me, I was a very active member around here prior to and during the early days of the release of the V12...I mean Torque...but I dropped off the radar completely about 6 months ago. A few of you know what happened but most don't.
The short of it is that my wife left me. It was very unexpected and very upsetting (to say the least). I spent a long time fighting depression and the last thing I needed at the time was to be busting my butt on programming projects. The time that I had spent working on game programming caused some of the problems that led to my wife leaving me and that further contributed to me giving up game programming altogether these last 6 months. I'm still uncertain if I will ever get back into programming but it still interests me.
So what am I up to these days? Well, there hasn't been a single bit of reconcilliation between my wife and me. Basically, at this point, I am just waiting out the year of separation required by South Carolina before the divorce. A miracle may occur between now and then but I really don't have much hope. Personally, I haven't really been doing much...playing games (Xbox and HL deathmatch mostly), teaching myself piano off and on, and teaching myself to draw again. I've played around with some 3D modelling (even gotten paid for it at work) but I haven't done much yet. I feel like I need to have my basic drawing skills up to par before tackling 3D. I can't seem to stop game design ideas from bouncing around in my head and have actually put a very solid one down on paper (a dragons vs. humans mod for Unreal II). Even have a promising idea for a top down flying scroller built on the TGE if anyone is interested.
Anyway, just wanted to let everyone know that I am back though I am scared of the forums (11,297 Unread posts!!). I will be poking around here a bit more often and maybe I'll be able to start contributing again in the not too distant future.
