Var and the Vikings on Kickstarter

Did you say Kickstarter?
Var and the Vikings is a puzzle-platformer where you use behavior trees to automate your squad of Norse heroes. With all-new art and improved gameplay, we're ready to make it big... we hope!
Hey, I remember that Brainworth thing!
I love you. You might remember that last year we tried a Kickstarter campaign focused on our experimental educational platform - I posted about it again recently, when we revised our user interface and relaunched our platform. We've learned a lot since then, most importantly about running a Kickstarter campaign.Crucially, we realised that we were trying to sell people a platform, which isn't really what a Kickstarter audience was after. If you can give people a product that they will end up with, they'll be much more willing to pay for it. We also overestimated the sheer quantity of people we can reach. This time, we think we're targeting a more reasonable goal, we have a more tangible (and much more polished) product, and are putting more effort into getting it out there to people.
How are you involved again?
I've actually been working on Brainworth's long-term project to create an online world full of different educational games. Var and the Vikings is only the first in a bunch of games we want to create to teach people all manner of subjects. Most of the work is being done by the awesome duo Mark and Nathan, with the rest of us acting as support and taking care of the other important tasks in running a small studio! How can I help?
How convenient of you to ask! If Var and the Vikings seems like your kind of game, then why not lend us a hand in making it? We're only asking $10 for the finished game, and we reckon that by the time we've implemented all the cool things we have planned, it will be more than worth it. If you share our dream of having gaming and education integrated so seamlessly that you don't even realise you're being taught as you play, then consider sharing our project! I'll repeat -Why, yes - I did say Kickstarter!
Thanks for reading, guys. I'll be back to my regularly scheduled Torque business soon ;).

Thanks for the shares and backs, everyone! We're not doing awesomely, but we've had some media interest so hopefully we'll be seeing a bit of upswing within the next few days...

Heh. I should have mentioned, this isn't a Torque project. It's a web game using crafty.js. We've discovered that it doesn't scale as well as we'd hoped. I would have been enthusiastic to bring the team to T2D MIT, but native web compatibility (i.e. no plugin) was a big deal for us.Thanks for the shares and backs, everyone! We're not doing awesomely, but we've had some media interest so hopefully we'll be seeing a bit of upswing within the next few days...
