Torque 2D MIT (TruckToy on iPad 2)

In my last set of blogs ...
Blog 1
Blog 2
Blog 3
... I demonstrated all sorts of features and demonstrated performance but that was all on the PC or OSX. Here I'd like to show a little video of the Sandbox running on an iPad 2. I thought it worthwhile showing this being as the whole point of T2D was to consolidate both TGB and iT2D.
This demo is easily hitting 60 FPS and at the worst parts when the ropes are awake and swinging and the truck is on the bridge.
I will add that this "toy" was created on the PC a long time ago without any concern over mobile performance so I was assuming it might chug in some areas but that's just not the case at all.
I'll be posting more stuff as time allows.

I can't wait to get my hands dirty with the upcoming release. Though, based on your detailed description, it sounds as if the code is pretty clean now, so I won't get so dirty. ;)
@Mich - Is there any chance we'll be getting access to the in-depth Wiki content to which Melv had referenced in his three-part blog?
Thank you,
Brian

@Brian - Yes. Part of the MIT launch is copying our docs to GitHub's wiki so people have access to it.

@Andrea - Oh so very, very, very soon. Private testers are already hammering on it. Melv and I are putting the final touches on some busted code. I'm fixing an iOS related issue with orientation that affects both iTorque 2D and T2D MIT. We are expecting to be fully code complete by Wednesday or Thursday. That just leaves a few logistical hurdles, a couple blogs about the steering committee, dotting the T's and crossing the I's.

Oh dear...we're doomed! You better mind your Q's and P's buster!
As a special bonus, Mich will be adding a spelzing and grahmers checker to the engine. ;)
Hmmm...48-72 hours until release? Alright...I'll just stay up and wait at the computer.

Note that I said "code complete by Wednesday or Thursday." There is still the matter of adding the copyright headers, creating a clean version of the repository, a couple of blogs, and a couple of website changes. I'm not saying the repo will be publicly available in 48 to 72 hours.

As part of the website changes, will there be new forums for the MIT release or will the TGB and iT2D forums simply be renamed/converted?

It's technically a new engine with incompatible bits here and there. A new forum might be an idea - call it "Legacy Torque" or something.

Hey - I noticed the exhaust particle system.... uh huh!

Yeah, Melv got particles working. Better than before actually.

Wait - headers, clean repo, blogs and site updates.... I didn't see any QA time in that!
