Project Gert: Final resting place or poised for domination?

Let me start off by saying Garage Games has been the primary influence of my game making career since I started, back in 2007. Their philosophies, and what I learned while visiting their location in Eugene, Oregon, in 2007, changed the way I thought about a lot of things.

Over the course of 5 years, I've entertained probably a hundred game ideas. The only ones that ever stuck, had to do with this IP I'm talking about, Project Gert.

At its core, it started as a dream. A deadly agent or spy, controlled by a deep, dark and sometimes incompetent government agency, known as Project Gert. The idea was that this spy would grow with its game engines, and story, and eventually become a well known multi-media entity. You see, Project Gert had it all, even the busty redhead. But it became so much more than that.

After the second game fell flat at the XBLIG marketplace, I went to writing a novel about these stories. They became a part of me unlike any project ever has in the past. I named it Project Gert to start off with, but never guessed this project's tendrils and tenacity would be so all consuming. Now I've released 3 games and a novel, to almost zero fan-fare. The reactions of critics has been... well... humbling.

So where do I go from here? I feel like I should optimize the old TorqueX engine, but don't really know where to start. I have so much more story to tell, but don't have artists or a team. Worse yet, the negativity of the social media bloggers seems to be one of the first truly bad signs we have gotten. I don't know where to go with this, or who to turn to. I feel like a lot of my energy is just going in circles at this point. I've spent a lot of my own money commissioning many of the assets, from sound to visuals, and now I feel like I've reached my limit on what I'm willing to do.

I guess I'm trying to think of what would be a next step, either sending out my applications to big game companies or looking for a sponsor to make more games. I just don't know the game industry that well, though. In fact, I'd say my knowledge of the game industry is pretty non-existent outside of Garage Games and the people I know in the indie community.

Anyways, this blog was meant to be a showing off of what I have done, and a short query for advice, but mostly, I think just asking for advice at this point would be appropriate. It is obvious that what I have created isn't being accepted as note-worthy, however valid I think it is.

Anyways, here's some show off stuff:
