Ron, I really like what you do! You be a great help for the community and your packs looks really awesome. You gave me some very good tips for the Neptun pack. This all helps to make things better. One of the great tips was how to use the parallax system at terrain textures. Thank you Ron.

I can't wait to to explore your new pack when you release it. Take your time and release it when you think it is ready

I'm glad that someone is pointing out some of the design flaws in Torque as compared to more commercial engines. Other wise the engine seems to be pretty solid excpect for those out dated designs flaws.I can't wait to to explore your new pack when you release it. Take your time and release it when you think it is ready

Also, thanks for the kind words. Really, it's embarassing...
Just shout if you want any more terrain work done in the future. I'd be happy to help.

Ron, the pack is looking fantastic, mate. The inclusion of buildings is something I wasn't expecting, though I'm overjoyed that you're including them. Really looking forward to getting this pack and playing with it!Also, thanks for the kind words. Really, it's embarassing...

The packs looking fantastic, but have a suggestion with the decal roads. make them like you do the terrain materials (parallax into the normals), but taper the edge's transparency and also manually make the mipmaps and save the diffuse as dds. It goes a good way to avoiding that stretchey pixellated look on them

Good to hear from you. In fact, I have already done that since these last screenshots. Good suggestion! Additionally, I have shipped this project to GG to be posted in the store. Hopefully, things will go well and I will post a blog that outlines all the details. 50 models, tons of textures and more!
Dan, stop being embarrassed, you have some amazing skills, I want everyone to know that. Many people 'blow off' the terrain because it seems simple. I know it's not. The Africa Savanna Environment Pack would not be as interesting if you did not take the time to use actual GEO data from Africa to make it.

Well, it's complete. Just waiting on GG to post it to the store. Once that is done, I will post a new blog with a new 'pretty cool' video that shows off most of the features. The guys at GG are busy as all get out so give em some time to get things checked out and posted. More to follow on some cool updates to the conifer and tropical packs. For now, here is a link that lets you see most of the stuff that has been done. This does not include any extras or the volume cloud objects.

Final count is 50 models and a ton of extras.

Out of interest, what bench testing have you done with your packs in terms of hardware? What sort of spec would they need on the demo to run it without too much of a performance hit.
Edit: just noticed the requirements through the store. Is the benchmark tests results through beta testers?

nice work Ron - you've really upped your game on this pack - good to know that the other packs are also being brought up to this sort of spec.Out of interest, what bench testing have you done with your packs in terms of hardware?
