The much anticipated release of DotNetTorque (DNT) is finally available on our web storefront at WinterleafEntertainment.com for $99!

I can not believe we finally got to the finish line! I would like to thank everyone who was involved in making DotNetTorque possible!

A special thanks to:

Kristin Gee (Wife!)
My wife, whom without her understanding that development efforts like DNT take massive amounts of time, (usually the time allocated to spend with her).

Paul Yoskowitz (Winterleaf)
- My business partner and friend whom keep me going at DNT when I so badly wanted to just slit my wrists and call it a day. I told you this was the last revision, no really..

Sean Rice (HNGamers)
-The latest addition to the Winterleaf Entertainment Team and DNT's first Beta Tester. Sean, you rock, thanks for all your testing and helping us build the install package! (All you readers out there might want to know, Sean is working with us on OneWorld, the next product planned to be released, more on this later!)

Luis Rodrigues (Winterleaf)
-Our relentless web master who has had to deal with Paul and me changing our minds on everything over and over again (usually last minute). Thanks for making the store front possible!

And the rest of Team Winterleaf and the GarageGames Community for providing pointers on how to tackle some of the more complex parts of the T3D engine.

So, what will you get for 99 Bucks?

You get ALL the source code (Except for the DNTC, which is the code generator) to enable your custom build of T3D to operate within a Microsoft Dot Net application.

Over 2,000 ConsoleFunctions, ConsoleMethod, DefineConsoleMethod, DefineConsoleFunction, DefineEngineFunction, DefineEngineMethod converted to CSharp and the ability to add
your custom entries to DNT using the DNTC!

Documentation included in the package is a 50+ page manual on how to get started in DNT as well as a several thousand page T3D SDK manual which covers the syntax for calling the objects inside of DNT.

Included in the package are:
  • DotNetTorque Customizer Executable
  • DotNetTorque Framework
  • Starter.FPS converted line by line into CSharp
  • Empty project template for starting new projects
  • Starter.FPS dedicated client example
  • Starter.FPS example with the Torque Packages removed and the code optimized
  • Access to our Members support forums where you can submit problems and questions.
  • Access to updates (1 full free year of updates included in purchase)

  • Thank you guys,

    Vince

    Congrats to the all team
It's was hard but it's finally out the door

I personally hope this release marks a new time for Torque Developers, bringing in the powwer of DotNet into the engine.

For the WLE this release is not an end but a beginning, as this was produced to be just another cog in a wider machine (news to follow as they will be ready for public consumpsion)

As said keep your eyes out for our next releases.

Hope you enjoy this product and can't wait to see how far you take it

Need a faster internet! GET ON WITH IT!
Download at 160 mb and can't see the file size so no clue how much left >.>
    So excited about this.
Also may I say, besides the really awesome C# scripting and stuff. I think another very valuable asset that you should highlight more is the templates!

    That ^ Is simply awesome

Could we get a dedicated client for empty projects aswell? I don't like all the bloat that comes with the Starter.FPS!

Great product and congratulations on the release! Will be excited to put it to a test!

I'm curious (and I apologize as this has probably been mentioned before) but is there any significant speed increases? Any benchmarks done?

    @Jacob,
I haven't run benchmarks lately, but the last time I did I was noticing about 10-20 fps more in a DNT build versus TorqueScript.

    @Lukas,

I just upped my bandwidth to 10 meg up. That should help with downloads

    ok Guys:

    Lukas broke it.....

ACTUALLY, there is a parsing issue with DNT and MIT. Vince is already on it and we will be posting the fix later tonite. Sorry for any problems.

Good thing I asked before you released it. :D

It's all fixed, you should see two more downloads available to you on the download page.

One is the DNTC for MIT and the other is the DNTC for 1.2

They are also posted in the forums.

Make sure you use them against the correct codebases, the 1.2 will NOT work against the MIT and vice versa.

The beauty of the design is that I just fixed thousands of lines of code by just editing a couple configuration files :)

If you are curious how debugging works, I've thrown together a movie and put it up for download.

You can view it at Debugging DNT.

Servers are back up, finally, electricity has returned.... funny thing they would of been up one way or another tonight. I had finally gotten the generator in place and was getting ready to bring everything up when... ahhhhh light, sweet light!
