Starcave Entertainment re-releases Camelot Galway - City Of The Tribes!
A 3D Historic Educational Irish Adventure game built on the Torque Game Engine (1.2!) and was developed during 2004 to 2005. The game had a limited release but is now on full release today - for FREE.
A few old school community GG'ers might remember this title released here from a few years ago and it was some wild ride of development cycles! A big thanks out to the GG staff at the time for all their help and to the development teams who worked on this little title. We wanted to create a non-violent classic adventure game with historic, educational and engaging simple gameplay for all ages. The game idealy suits the age groups between 4 to 10 years old but I know you old folks enjoy it as well!
The first showcasing of Camelot Galway by Starcave Entertainment appeared at the International Volvo Ocean Race finale in Galway City 2012. For two weeks, the game entertained thousands of people (over One Million visitors to Galway for the Volvo Ocean Race) and was an fantastic hit with locals, Irish and tourists alike of all ages! With such high demand from people to get a copy, we have now put it up for digital download. I hope you will enjoy playing it as much as we enjoyed making it.

So here is a little bit about the game for those who don't know:
Camelot Galway is a fantasy computer game and interactive educational adventure tour based on a medieval 17th century map of Galway city in Ireland, where the player can take an interactive tour of Galway, while learning about some of the most recognised Irish myths and folklore, and taking in some basic Irish language at the same time.
The Tour in Camelot Galway lets users walk back in time to Galway in 1651, interact with medieval characters in learning the history of Galway City and help them out on tasks during the adventure. Gameplay aspects include the user searching for dozens of hidden pages of 8 famous Irish stories of Irish folklore legends. The user can also help the medieval characters out with tasks to complete.
There are also many mini games to play to earn more coins in order to pay for some of the books pages that are needed. With each page the Camelot Galway storybook opens up and educates the user about Irish history and folklore. Along with the history and folklore, educational aspects also include the ability to click on objects in the game and see the English - Irish translation. Users can also discover 77 real Galway shops in this medieval world with information on these.
Features
- Eight famous Irish stories broken down into 55 pages to find and collect!
- Uncover historic information throughout the ages of Galway City!
- Play various mini games and quests throughout the adventure such as archery and other activities!
- Learn Irish words of dozens of objects in the tour!
- Visit real Galway shops located across the city!
- Recreated street layout of 1651 AD Galway City including real historic landmarks!
- Earn, find, and collect Irish currency to buy pages of the ancient story books!
- Hours of relaxing Game-Play and educational learning.

Cool! I can learn to speak like my people. Well, I am 50% Irish anyway. Don't know any Gaelic though.

It's great to see developers such as yourself releasing the back catalog for free, I wish more people would follow suit.

Time to get some new Gaelic words for you Frank, click on all the objects to get them. :)
Thanks Mack, happy to see the full game out there for everyone to play and yes time flies David .. too fast. With this version I extended the FOG & other things to stop the pop-up of buildings since PC specs are abit higher these days .. thankfully! Great to hear your excitement about the game as it's nice to see it back out there again.

Thanks for the comments guys. Steve if you look at the 2nd image near the semi-blue sky you can see rain! Just as in real life it can't be predicted in-game and had plenty of laughs with the random weather in the game from the Volvo Ocean Race visitors (as it would rain outside at the same time!).Time to get some new Gaelic words for you Frank, click on all the objects to get them. :)
