Game State Engine (GSE) is a gameplay tool for multi-player games that are constantly changing/evolving. It can help bring a game that is static to life, especially in a persistent game world where you want to keep the player interested and interacting with the environment. Game states can be changed from the GSE control panel to update one or more game servers. Each game state is remembered, even when a server crashes or restarted the game state is then restored at the point of its last save point. It will also consistency check that the state is correct before making any changes.
GSE comes complete with a set of base artwork packs that can be used in your own games and is currently only available for the Torque Games Engine (Torque 3D / TGEA / TGE and TGB) with supporting connectivity scripts and functionality. Artwork packs will consist of full buildings that can be damaged over time using the GSE to keep track of the states of each building, and rebuild them over a few minutes / hours / days or months. You can provide players, AI players or vehicles with destruction or repair weapons/tools to create chaos, or calm :) An ideal scenario for a war-zone.

Thanks Robert. Having a good set of development tools behind you (engine included) can make the difference in creating a good game. Especially if they get you there much quicker than developing them all by yourself, whether it's down to experience, lack of knowledge or just time I'm sure there will be a tool or 3rd party middleware for everyone somewhere down the line - even if I don't think of it :)

edit:
Also, is there a BETA program for this product?

I'll also be working on an in-game store GUI for Torque over the next week or so, which will allow you to purchase in-game items from Torque, which will be based on how many credits the user has in GMMS.

Currently being implemented into GMMS is Micro-payments. So if you have a free to play game that enables you to buy credits to purchase in game items then GMMS is an ideal solution for this. On purchasing a membership level, credits can be assigned to a users account for in-game items, instead of taking real money payment for the in-game items you can deduct credits from the users account. These items are then placed in the database for retrieval in your Torque Game (supporting scripts being worked on), so if you have purchased a radar, you can use GMMS on the torque side to show or not show the GUI based on either their Membership Level, or the item they have purchased in the store with real money or credits. Same would also apply for buying ammo packs or weapons.I'll also be working on an in-game store GUI for Torque over the next week or so, which will allow you to purchase in-game items from Torque, which will be based on how many credits the user has in GMMS.
