Natural Condition is a light unit/territory management game. Players play as either the extremist forms of Nature or Progress, they fight to control the map by converting it around them. Starting off with a set amount of points players use the points to select their starter units.

Seeders are used as the foundation of influence on the map, they plant either seeds of plants or pollution. Grunts use their spray guns to increase the rate of conversion where seeds are planted or they can push around enemies. Commanders can grab enemies with the vine ropes or grappling gun and stun them with the club or stick. Champions are pure damage and can stun enemies quickly.

To convert enemy territory players have to venture their units into the enemies territory, they have to be careful however, long term exposure to the enemies territory makes their units sick, if they're sick for too long then they'll convert to the enemies side. The players can pull in, push and stun enemies into their territory to try and get them to stay to convert over. Players can earn points by converting land and purchase additional units, players who control most of the map will get less points for converting the land, while players who have the least amount of land get more points so they can counter attack faster.

What you see in this render is all I have done at the moment, the characters are done; completely animated and ready to go. I don't have any environmental art at the moment however, but I plan on picking some stuff up.

50/50 is the split after release, serious, dedicated inquires only, drop me an email: mack@xrucifix.com

Thanks Dan and Brian for your compliments. :)

Leathel: Yes, I primarily work on a main, large project and then have a much smaller side project to help with the long term release blues. The programmer I was initially working with had a baby and things weren't working out time wise (babies do that! :)). I didn't want to impose so I've been off looking around for another programmer. After trying a couple of references I decided to make a main post on the GG blog site.

Now that's a good idea - even a little "variation on a theme" break can help stave off the acursed burn. He says already planning his own project2 ;)

Nice models, too!

I thought about doing something like this. Trading 3D Models for code. Wasn't sure if it'd ever work though.

I think to find a programmer is not so easy as it sounds. Thats why i try to learn more about coding. I dream to work in a team, but that is the hardest part to get. Especialy if you life in switzerland. There is no developer game industry.

Gl with find a team member.

@Mack: Do you have a High Level Overview and Game Design Document?

If you do, I may be able to find a programmer for you ... he is based in South Africa (as am I) and he is a hotshot at C++ and is fast learning the T3D engine ... he doesn't spend much time on the Forums here though.

He has been looking for a small project to get involved with ... maybe if you have those documents created he can look at it and get back to you.

Thanks to everyone who's responded, your compliments and your emails expressing interest have been very encouraging. I was fairly surprised by the amount of interested people wanting to jump in and get their hands dirty on this (I use the analogy that game development is a lot like a garden). Right now I think I'm working with someone who would be a good fit and we're hammering all the details out. As soon as we have some solid footage we'll post up some blogs on here. :)

@Mack - Congrats in finding somebody.

@Daniel - You gotta come to Germany, Munich. There are many game devs and studios.
There will be a conference/meeting with many sessions here again. It's for free, you only have to get here for one weekend.

@ Alexander, i still don't saw your post. I think it is the only way, left Switzerland and try to find a team in germany.
