Latest Game Release: Pinball Hockey!

After such a slow year for Cascadia Games, I'm surprised and pleased to post a rare second blog within a week! This time, I'm here to announce that we've got a new game in the app store: Pinball Hockey!

Pinball Hockey is a little bit of an experiment. I personally aim to try something a little new with each app. In this case, a lot of new! Pinball Hockey is our first app with:

  • In-app ads for other games. A small griz logo brings up icons to buy Mini Shogi, Mini Shatranj, and Mini Makruk
  • An iTunes listing in the Action and Sports categories
  • The OpenFeint leaf logo prominently displayed in app icon and logo
  • The new Cascadia "Griz" logo featured... in the first splash at that!
  • No music! This is sports, not ballet!
  • All "original" code. That is, no karts, no chess, no previous app as a template
  • Our most expensive ad campagin ever! (Note: pretty small still!)*
With so many firsts, I'm anxious to see how it goes. It has been a bit of a slow year thanks to my 5 month hiatus to pursue non-games contract work. But I'm back and so will be the rest of the Cascadia posse soon!

Pinball Hockey is made with vanilla iTGB and a couple of super tiny script-to-C++ optimizations. I am planning on submitting a 1.0.1 update with a few small tweaks.

So if you've got some spare pennies, please check it out! As is tradition, I will shortly start up a promo code giveaway on my Twitter profile. Give me a follow and you might just score a free game!

Do you have a video of this game in action?

Regardless, congrats and looks good. I'll check it out tonight.

I haven't yet put a video up. Hopefully I'll find a good time to do so.

I should have mentioned that I used your fabulous multi-touch fix. It simply wouldn't have been a playable game without it. :)
