Stop on by and say hello to our newest journal members mixmaster and Raptor85!
Journal Land Pick of the Week
Any Colour You Like - I'm so used to just sticking benryves' (still very cool) stuff into the "Other" column but I realized I shouldn't be doing that when he's recreating a DOOM level using his TI-83+ 3D engine now should I? Heck, it's so cool and different than what's normally being done by people today might as well just feature it! I can do that, you know.
Welcome back EDI and Metron!
Project Updates
* Blue stain - alfith gives a quick behind the scenes look at how he creates models for his games
* Tachyon Wars - johny5 swings by to point to the report of Tachyon Wars ending its pre-alpha game test. You can still download the client and check the game out.
* Beals Software's Development Journal - Programmer16's follow-up post to his previous post last week asking about UI design
Game Dev Stuffs
* Dungeon Fortress - Darkness is not your friend - Ashaman73 gives a fair amount of thought to how he wants to implement game saves late in the development of his engine/game, looking at both Serialisation/Deserialisation and straight up Export/Import
* Chronicles of the Hieroglyph - Jason Z shares a link to a video discussing AMDs Evergreen Architecture delving deep into GPU concepts.
* Feathers and Code - Mathucub has the (some would say) unenviable job of re-achitecting a large project that is very closely coupled. He takes time to explain the use of Finite State Machines in project architectures this time around - next he will focus on the coupling issues.
Thanks for stopping by Evil Steve, JTippetts, sprite_hound
