DSQTweaker 1.5 - New Trial version and T3D support

We are excited to announce version 1.5 of DSQTweaker!
This is an important update that introduces some powerful new features, we hope you can get some use out of this tool and most of all that it saves you time.
Working on this project with the BAG team and the creator of DSQTweaker, Dale Harper, has been a blast! He originally designed the application as his own tool to better understand the DTS/DSQ relationship in Torque, which is why it shows us so much useful information about sequences and their corresponding shapes.
Let’s see…the key points about this update…
During our ongoing discussions of his usage of COLLADA import for characters into Torque3D, he described another issue where his characters required, as many do, that the animations be stored as COLLADA files (.dae). This was not desirable to him, as the file size for each sequence was much larger as a .dae (versus DSQ). So the next big feature was born...
Now... some of you power-devs may think: “this tool isn’t mission-critical to my project”, and you may be right. But it is still VERY handy as a reference tool... that is, if your project uses animated shapes, of course. So, by all means, check out the DEMO and see for yourself!
That’s about it for now, but if you want to read the particular details of the new release, just visit the product page.
Thanks for reading!

Trial Version
There is now a trial version available for free download, here at the TorquePowered store. So please, if you haven’t already, give it a try.DSQTweaker is now Torque3D compatible!
This is something we’re particularly excited about, and I’d like to thank one of our users, August, who suggested we add version 26 DTS/DSQ support. We were astounded that we had not already been working on that and got right to work implementing it.During our ongoing discussions of his usage of COLLADA import for characters into Torque3D, he described another issue where his characters required, as many do, that the animations be stored as COLLADA files (.dae). This was not desirable to him, as the file size for each sequence was much larger as a .dae (versus DSQ). So the next big feature was born...
Export of embedded animations from DTS to DSQ
This means developers can now import COLLADA sequences into T3D, creating cached.dts files, then open those files in DSQTweaker and export out the sequence as a DSQ!Now... some of you power-devs may think: “this tool isn’t mission-critical to my project”, and you may be right. DSQ Tweaker just saved me hours and hours (maybe even days) of waiting and let me get straight down to business, fixing nodes, ground xforms, and changing internal sequence names so that I could focus on the code and not the art.
In the time it would take Max to load, I've already converted and modified 8 animations.
Dale, thanks again buddy, IMO the best tools are made out of necessity by the people in the trenches.
This is definitely one of those.
I'll be keeping it right next to my Kershaw from now on...

As a coder, I don't have time to wait for one of my artists to modify and re-export animations while I'm debugging (currently finishing the MACK/FACK T3D upgrades).DSQ Tweaker just saved me hours and hours (maybe even days) of waiting and let me get straight down to business, fixing nodes, ground xforms, and changing internal sequence names so that I could focus on the code and not the art.

When I delete skeletal nodes from the *.DTS I notice they don't remove themselves from the editor view. Do I have to save the file and then reopen it to view the changes? (I'm using the trail so I can't save)
I don't have much of a chance at the moment to play with it, will this allow me to move and rotate the nodes as well?
Also, for the next version, could you have window resizing? The editor opens up across all of my screens and I can't resize it to a smaller window. Thx. :)

I don't hang around the forums much so I'll introduce myself, I'm Dale and I wrote DSQTweaker.
DSQTweaker will not delete nodes from a DTS! If you load a DTS with embedded anims. Tweaker converts the anims. to DSQ and displays that info in the first three tabs. You can edit the converted anims but the only save option avail. is File/Export. The Trial version of Tweaker will Save and Export for seven days after Activation!
You can edit sequence rotations in Tweaker but translations are not editable yet.
I will try to make Tweaker a size box for the next release.

For DTS I'm pretty sure you can use the Shape Editor in stock T3D.
Thanks again Dale!

The DTS26 and collada support is a great addition especially when GG/TP is pushing in that direction.
[Guys, does that licensing package install anything on my system ? I'd hate to think I'll have some lingering DRM on my system if I uninstall. Plz inform.]

AFAIK, all programs leave some kind of footprint in the registry after uninstall. Even if it's only in "Recent Documents" there will be entries left behind.
Our DRM was just recently upgraded to be even less intrusive (one .exe instead of two) and will be used in future releases. The 2 files used for the DRM should be in the application directory.
Please feel free to email us if you have any troubles installing, uninstalling or re-installing DSQTweaker.

The DRM is very lightweight and should uninstall along with the application, however there are some registry entries that remain. This helps for re-installing the application while retaining the license info.AFAIK, all programs leave some kind of footprint in the registry after uninstall. You get it working? It should launch an activation window the first time. If not, what operating system are you attempting to run it on?
