Motor Psycho - early alpha video

by Tom Ogburn · 11/02/2009 (10:44 am) · 11 comments

Video - did someone say video? Why yes, I did. Here is an extremely early alpha video of Motor Psycho. It is a small world that I'm using just to test physics, fighting, path finding, and all the glorious things that come with racing and fighting on motorcycles Road Rash style. This is being made with Torque X and is expected to release on XBox Indie Games sometime in winter/spring 2010.

I have a high quality (720p) version of this in Fraps AVI. Unfortunately XP's Windows Movie Maker doesn't allow HD export (and Windows 7 just doesn't include Movie Maker), so the YouTube version isn't the best quality. If someone knows of a free way to edit HD video to add title screens before uploading, let me know.

Looking good. The rider's animations look nice and fluid. I'll be looking forward to playing this.

Nice! It reminds me of an early 90s game called Road Rash. I loved that game.

I'd just like to say: This rules. The minute I saw the thumbnail of the guy on one motorcycle kicking a guy on the other I was like, "Holy crap Road Rash!"

I think fighting on motorcycles has a lot potential, good pick!

Very nice! How do you've realized the physics of the motorcycle? I think it's not possible to use the standard vehicle class for it, right?

Benjamin - He's Using TX3D. The standard vehicle class thing is for T3D.

If im not wrong he wrote that on his own.

Thanks for the feedback and encouragement guys.

@Benjamin, Matt is right. TX3D doesn't include a standard vehicle class so it's all custom code.
