To GG community,

TCWDT PRO (aka TCWDT Kit) for TGEA 1.7.1, 1.8.0 and 1.8.1 is now available at GG's store.

Product link can be found here

The kit includes:

1) the entire source code for TCWDT for TGEA 1.7.1, 1.8.0, 1.8.1 and a few new script files
2) a 40+ pages merge document showing you all the changes made
3) a precomplied, ready to go copy of TCWDT for TGEA 1.7.1, 1.8.0, 1.8.1

--------------------------
A little info about TCWDT:

GarageGames' World Editor in the Torque Game Engine Advanced (TGEA) is rich in features. However, combined with the Torque Collaborative World Design Tool (TCWDT), level editing using the World Editor is further enhanced through real-time collaboration across any available network. One of the main features of the TCWDT is it does not require a dedicated server setup. In a snap any level designer (host) can easily setup and host a level. Once hosted, other designers (clients) with prior authorization can access the hosted level and share the assets for further collaborative game level design.
--------------------------

In the spirit of supporting indie development, those who paid for the binary release before will just need to pay the price difference for the PRO version. This applies for commercial licensee as well. Please contact GG for further information.

We hope TCWDT PRO can further enhance the world design development experience among multiple level designers. We also hope the kit will be used to create interesting real-time collaborative gameplay.

TCWDT PRO for T3D is in the works.

Happy developing and gaming.

This product sounds awesome!

Just FYI, it'd probably do some good to add a direct link to the product page somewhere in your main post, and possibly embed the video as well (for others reading this, the video can be found on the product page). Screenshots wouldn't hurt, either (then again, if an image says a thousand words, the video says a million!). :)

Just did that. Direct links to the product's page and a short video demo. Thanks @Zoidy for the suggestions.

This is a really cool product that makes working with remote teams a fun collaborative process. I highly recommend this product to anyone working with art/level design contractors or people working on teams where people are remote. Communication with remote people working on the same thing can be one of the toughest things to deal with on a project and TCWDT helps alleviate some of that.

@Fairuz - Changed your video link to the actual Vimeo video, hope you don't mind.

This looks good, but I'm more interested in the T3D Version. If we purchase now, is there a free upgrade? Or should I just wait?

My mouth is watering, the dog needs this for Torque3D, I believe you can configure this for Dual monitor editing running two copies on a single box!

Copy One: Player View
Copy Two: God View

I would be able to move in both views and adjust in both views hit save in either view!

Fairuz do you agree, see any problems?

Derek - No problem, and thanks.

Jaimi - We haven't decided yet. I'm sure we can work something out for T3D.

@OmegaDog - Great idea. We'll try this out. Technically it should work on the same machine. Not only you can see it on 2 monitors, you can go upto....64 monitors or even more (well that may be a little bit too much though, lol).

@ Derek, Hey Derek, do you always talk to your audience with your back towards them? :o) Nice new pic. You mean they actually let you loose long enough to post something out here? :o) nice to see you finally coming out of the cave over there. I wasn't sure if you still worked there or what anymore. :o)

Yeah this is a wonderful product. I've hear a lot of good things about it and considering buying it for myself as well. Great work guys.

James,

TCWDT PRO is based on TGEA's networking architecture. Therefore it can support up to 64 simulataneous users. We've succesfully tested it with 8 (1 host + 7 clients) computers connected together across a LAN. We've also successfully tested it with 2 computers connected over the internet at 2 different locations (different IPs and subnets).

Very cool! Good to see the source included. This will definitely be a help to teams that have massively modified their codebase!

I thought there used to be a demo (Maybe I am remembering the beta?) for this. I can't find a working demo now if there is one. Do you have a link for me?

@Sparkling

Hmmm......on the old site, actually there used to a link to the demo. I'll contact Derek at GG to perhaps restore the link for the demo. Thanks for noticing it.

UPDATE: Just send Derek an email. Hopefully the link will be restored soon.

Any news as to if/where/when a port of would be available for T3D? Or any suggestions for a non coder to start?
