Contest: Win Torque 3D a Macbook and 3D software

Mike (of Hey Mac Software and Side Effects Software) and Lisa (formerly of Autodesk, formerly of Alias, formerly of Side Effects Software, etc.) Taylor have after much blood, sweat and tears released the second episode of Motive Games.

Motive Games is -- well a few things. It started off as a book for teens about life in the game dev community (though wrapped in a mystery story). Then it was an audiobook. Then it was a multimedia story for iPhone/iPod Touch played via the Narrator app (www.itunes.com/app/Narrator). Then it became an interactive mystery. Garage Games entered at that point.

The interactive part is about the readers figuring out "who" the murderer is, "how," they did it, and "why." In these early stages of the story (only 9 of 22 chapters are released) that's a bit tricky unless you can take the hints from the characters about where online you might find some clues.

Of course as the story goes along, figuring out the answers to the questions gets easier. Once you have even one (hopefully) correct answer, you go to www.motivegames.com/contest and enter your best guesses: you get entered once into the contest for every answer you get right -- you can enter once per month up until October.

We draw the winner mid October and the first prize is (yes, I'm finally getting to the Garage Games part) a Macbook, a license of Modo, a license of Houdini Apprentice and you guessed it, a license of Torque 3D. Second and third prizes are iPod Touches.

Entering costs you nothing. Motive Games, audiobook-only version (at www.motivegames.com/podcast) costs you nothing. Motive Games the admittedly cooler multimedia version is $2.99 (by purchasing Narrator) at the app store. There's other great free content that comes with Narrator so it's a few bucks well spent.

Though the story is aimed primarily at teens we seem to have a happy following of 30- something game developers too. I'm going to hope it's not because they fantasize about one of their bosses being murdered ;-)

For clearity, I would like to know if this contest is geared to iphone and ipod only users.
