Mini Shogi (Japanese Chess) Available for iPhone

It only took about a week of porting and two weeks of waiting. Mini Shogi is now up in the app store. This version of Mini Shogi is stripped down version of the PC original. It incorporates the feedback that came from the PC reviewers, including a Western characters theme and the ability to see where any piece can move by touching it.

Overall, it was super easy to port Mini Shogi to iTGB. The entire game was coded in C++, with additional console functions added to tap into the new functionality. It ran quickly without modification on the iPhone. It was simply a matter of updating the GUI and taking care to reduce the game load time to 8 seconds (on a 2nd gen iPod).

Mini Shogi is the first game released via Cascadia Games, my "official" game business. The other games from xenoclone.com will likely also be ported over. For those games, reviewer feedback from the PC versions will be kept in mind, as well as what I've learned from porting this game to the iPhone.
