Greetings everyone!
I will continue to tell community about upcoming Game Mechanics Kit 1.1.0. In my PREVIOUS BLOG I spoke about rigid bodies, ragdolls and other features of the Physics Pack.
Now I'm going to tell about Cut Scene Editor.
Cut Scene Editor was the second (after the physics) most wanted request from our customers.
DOWNLOAD DEMO GAME (56Mb)
Cut scenes are important part of many modern computer games. Crisis, Doom3, Quake4, Call Of Duty use cut scenes a great deal. Onetime you want to introduce player with a new monster in a dramatic fashion, other time you need to show some action (the door is opening), which happens in response to a player use of a certain lever. Cut Scene Editor in conjunction with original GMK Editor makes these tasks a real cakewalk.
Features of GMK Cut Scene Editor:
- Create, edit and test camera fly-paths right within GMK Editor. You won't need to restart mission, reload editor or something. Just press "Fly path" button. You can add unlimited number of paths to a single Cut Scene object.
- Variable speed of camera movement. You can assign overall speed of movement in Cut Scene object, and change it in arbitrary fashion on each of path's waypoints.
- Interaction with other game objects. You can order another objects (NPC, Doors etc) play
different animations whenever camera reaches certain waypoint.
- Camera "look at" mode allows you to assign random fly path, but camera will always look at certain position or object. For example you can setup camera to alway look at certain NPC's face.
- Sound or music can be added easily to support cut scene.
Cut Scene Editor is a FREE add-on for all users of GMK.
You can learn more about Game Mechanics Kit or buy the full version from our site.
We're pushing hard to ship GMK 1.1.0 this week. Hopefully, If testing will go smoothly, we'll release the kit in a few days.

It's used in the GG Torque demos.
Good work either way!

We have used original Torque camera code as starting point to build GMK Cut Scene object. GMK Cut Scene Editor enhance original Torque camera in many ways. And most important it gives you tools to edit camera paths and it's synchronization with other objects, animations, sounds and music. You don't have to code at all to create and integrate a cut-scene into the game.

Is it possible to edit the interpolation between path points? To make it smoother or tighter, for example?

Very, very slick... this kit is looking like being a very valuable purchase. Note to self - buy TGEA before thinking about buying kits :PIs it possible to edit the interpolation between path points? To make it smoother or tighter, for example?

Curious to see the anwser Chad asked, also is there an est. released date for the GMK for T3D?

>If I buy GMK now, will I have to buy it again for T3D?
No. You'll get GMK for TD3 for free, once we make a port.
I don't know exact release date, but when we get T3D code we'll start to making a port. And time depends on how much T3D code differs from the one of TGEA.

GMK is available for TGE also. However some of the features (as Cut Scene Editor) we will port from TGEA some time later.

You can do this by adding more waypoints to the path. It will work exactly in the same way.

Now we're getting money from the new customers that are buying the kit. More kits we sell - more new features will come as free add-ons to GMK :)
All updates for 1.x.x will be free for all Torque engines(including T3D).
We plan a lot of cool features, like enhanced AI that will be available for registered users for free.
