Hey Everyone,
I've been working on this game for the past few months, and finally the time comes to begin the release process. The website is still in the works, and the game isn't completely polished just yet, but none the less I figured I'd release what I have at the moment to you guys, and have you tear it up the best you can.
Enough text though, lets just get to it.
Feedback, bugs, what you would like to see, features, just about anything I'd love to hear it.
Here's the website, just navigate to the Play Game tab, download the necessary activeX control and player, and tear it up.

W A S D - Movement

Left Click - Fire

Max Thomas

I think you should re-export those trees with test textures on them. There's something about the whole level being covered in them that just seems cool :) Great work on the game!

I'm not sure if it's me or what but the game won't start after the zip is downloaded. I'm running Vista Home(32bit) and Firefix 3.0.8.

..your site says you can't find a better "free FPS shooter in browser game". Does this mean you think 'Orange FPS' is better than the grand-daddy of fps gaming "Quake live" ?!!?!
...I think not yet, but best of luck on making that a reality! seriously. Kick some ass! :D

this is a very good effort. I noticed that the resolution can't be changed. when I change it to 800x600, I get a weird kind of screen, but nothing playable. Maybe remove that from your game.
It runs really smoothly, congrats.

Ran good for me in Vista + Firefox. Keep it going and polish, polish, polish!

Looks like it's off to a good start though! nice AI's.
Keep at it and keep us posted!

I didn't get to play very long. After my 3 spawn deaths the server disconnected and I couldn't find it again. So, my primary feedback would be to agree with Steve Way - More hp, and 3-5 second spawn invulnerability.Looks like it's off to a good start though! nice AI's.
Keep at it and keep us posted!

Thanks for all of the quick feedback!
@Steve: Thank you first and foremost. I like the idea for a few seconds of respawn invulnerability for the players to establish a safe zone before beginning play, I'll be sure to put that on my to do list. Personally where the hit points for the weapons are at now feels comfortable for me, maybe I'll do a poll on the players. I've gone back and forth between single shot single click, and auto fire for the pistol and have been continuously up in the air about it.. But since I haven't put in another machine gun alternative just yet, I figured I'd leave the pistol with auto fire until more weapons are released.
@Ted: Great idea, I'm actually going to give that a try the minute I'm done writing this post. Thanks! :)
@Tek0: I know that some vista users have issues with the plugin or running the game, haven't put my finger on the issue exactly just yet though... Could you possibly try it in IE?
@T Squared: Your character pack is absolutely superb man, the game wouldn't be nearly where it is now without it. Personally I'd love to see more character classes, I know I'd be able to find them useful in some form or another, and I'm sure others would too.
@Eb: Thanks man. Haha, I know farewell that overstepping Quake Live would be an ungodly large task, but I figured even though I'm going to catch some heat for it, it's better to have some confidence behind it and make the players feel more like they made a good choice.
@Brokeass Games: OSAkit is really a great solution, I'm surprised that more torque users haven't jumped on its bandwagon. Good to know it loaded up and ran smoothly for you, any suggestions to take the game past that starting point? :) Thanks!
@Quinton Delpeche: Thank you! The most actual human players I've had on the game so far at a time was 5 so far and it was a blast, the floating mines and grenades add a lot to gameplay that sadly my dumb AI has yet to grasp.. I can't wait to her back from you how the LAN test goes.
@David Janssens: Thank you, it truly is an effort being a 1 man team, but it's coming along slowly and surely. As of now changing the windowed resolution will cause issues, but you can set it to be full screen at any various resolution.
@Randy Hearn: Did you end up getting it working after restarting firefox? Seems like the majority of my issues have been Vista based, probably some odd security issues.
@Michael Hall: Any suggestions on where the primary focus of the polishing should go? :)

You will know what you need add/change. ;)

My advice is to play major titles that have a similar gameplay style and take down notes of the things you like. You will know what you need add/change. ;)

Yeah, I would echo BAG. What you have is very playable already, but the jaded masses will want more. Some of the suggestions already mentioned would be good ones to follow -- I like the respawn invulnerability idea. Round out your weapon selections, with a little tweaking and further balancing, and throw in some alternative gametypes -- definitely more gametypes.

Yes, sorry. I had a procedure today and been asleep all day:) Seems after I reinstalled McAfee gave me a "allow access" which I was expecting. So I am would assume the crash was as you are saying access with Vista 64x...
Might just add you a FAQ page that if it crashes on install or you have McAfee installed it must be allowed to access the internet:)
Good game.. can will post more after this med stuff wears off:)

Awesome! OSAKit was just what the doctor ordered. I've been having trouble getting Torque to work browser based on this laptop(I am running Windows 7 Beta) and was even having trouble getting Instant Action to work. So I got to try out and it worked like a charm for me.Running in Firefox on Windows 7 on a Dell Precision laptop.

Did you have to do anything special to get the game to embed? I got it to work with Torque X, but it freezes after the first graphic is loaded... works fine if I don't tell it to embed. Just curious because there's not a lot of info on OSAKit.Brian

1) Respawn points should be farther away from bots/players.
2) Perhaps 3 seconds of respawn invulnerability and inability to shoot.
These first two suggestions are as a result of spawning into immediate death from the bots. ;)
3) Crank up the hit points, or reduce the damage for the weapons so players can take a few more shots.
4) Remove automatic fire for pistols. One mouse click = one shot.
5) One or two more random death animations for variety would be cool too.
That being said, I know this is a work in progress. It really looks great right now! I intend to play it much more. Keep up the awesome work!
