Rich universe, surreal graphics, in this quirky 2d adventure game.

Our first TGB game (yet to be titled), will feature a rich 2d universe, surreal graphics, physics driven gameplay, and quirky
characters with voice acting. We are nearing development, as we are coming closer to ending our prototyping phase, and will most likely
target the IPhone for its deployment.
The screenshot below shows our first prototype scene:

Below are sketches of assets which may or may not make it into the final game.

I was going to mention Tim Burton before seeing Andy's comment. :) Really cool. Now you just have to get Danny Elfman to score the music for this! :)Really great, unique style, keep us posted!

Whats the general protocol when showing project progress? update this post, or just create more? I dont want to aggravate anyone, we are really new to the Torque community though, just prototyping things out with the engine right now (so far so good!)

You should definitely create new posts. An unwritten etiquette makes an exception if your updates are very frequent to not push others out of the latest blogs list with multiple posts.

Also, once you get a website up, I'll be more than happy to put it in the Powered by Torque page under "In Progress" TGB games. :)

@Tj: As Konrad said, just keep posting blogs as long as you don't go too crazy (like once a day). But we have a lot of people do weekly progress updates of their games on the site. Also, once you get a website up, I'll be more than happy to put it in the Powered by Torque page under "In Progress" TGB games. :)

Great sounds good thanks Deborah :) we should have some of that done quite soon. Just prototyping gameplay aspects before we go ahead and commit to TGB. Having some issues deciding the best way to handle animations since sprite based wont do for the characters, to many variables involved.

Wow... is about all that can be said. Love the characters. And those skies - somehow they make the whole thing kind of dreamy, despite being very realistic :P. Great work!

I hope TGB will work out for this project, worried about the physics and animations for these characters that I will need. The physics system seems pretty limiting in comparison to engines like chipmunk / box2d, I wont need all those features obviously but many would be really nice

That could be a million dollar iPhone game, if it plays as good as it looks.

@ZonalTycoon thanks for the input, overall my goal is to have a reasonably 'grounded in reality' feel, however many mysterious unfamiliarity's as well

Wow thanks again for the kind words everyone, these comments will certainly help me push the game to the best of my abilities, it has been a really enjoyable process so far, and I have high hopes for the gameplay as well. I am a fulltime programmer by day, and musician / photographer / digital artist by night so we will see what happens ;)@ZonalTycoon thanks for the input, overall my goal is to have a reasonably 'grounded in reality' feel, however many mysterious unfamiliarity's as well
