Hello!

I have been working on several texture packs for some time. I'm sure some of you have seen updates here in the blogs as well as a post in the forums. This pack I totally enjoyed making.

Anyway.. here are a few screen shots of some of the textures in use. This is a simple level I whipped up yesterday to show them in TGEA.

Here are afew of the textures below that are used in the pics above, and are obviously in the pack. I shrank them down to half scale.

The pack will include the following:

1) 68 unique diffuse textures, and for each texture:
- normal map
- Ambient Occlusion map
- Displacement map
- Specular map

example:

* The specular maps can be found in two ways. There will be a separate Specular map, as well as one already in the superpng format.

2) Along with these things, the 68 diffuse textures will come in the following formats:
- .png (no alpha)
- .jpg
- .superpng (with alpha spec)
- .dds (dxt-5 format)

* - in total, approx. 544 files

3) Also to be included will be of course a materials file for ease of use.

I will be contacting GG to see if they would be interested in using these in the content pack section. Either way these will be for sale in the coming week(s).

Thanks for your time and attention guys, it's much appreciated.

...oh, I will be posting another content pack soon called Doors & Windows... stay tuned.

I'm totally floored by your work man... amazing stuff. That is how I want to do my textures right there. Do you use Photoshop to do that in? I am a paintshop guy myself as you prob seen from my other blog... Any way to teach someone how to make something that amazing?

Thanks

@ Steve
Most of the textures are 512x512. There are afew that are like 512x128 and so on due to the texture being made. All are power of 2.

@ Will
Yes I switch between Photoshop and Corel.. but I use Photoshop 90 percent of the time. And yes, there are many ways to learn to make textures. In fact, there are step by step tutorials all over the net. That's how I started.. the rest is finding your own style.

Again, thanks guys for the nice comments!

hi!

will the .map that you have screenshots of, be included in the pack?...and about how much (for textures and .map)?

@ Max
The price of the pack has not been set Mainly because I am waiting for GG to provide their input in reference to the content store. It will not be unreasonable though.
As far as the .map file... I suppose I could include it; never thought about it honestly. I threw that level together in like 2 hours.

If people are interested, I could easily put together several diff segments in high detail.. halls/rooms/etc and include new textures with them. Wasn't sure the demand would be there.

@Andrew - Yes, if you could provide some samples of the same quality that you have above, that would definitely sway me to buy.

@ Jaimi
Sample such as? Do you mean brush samples like the level above included in the content pack. Or, are you talking about a dif/.map content pack seperate from this one?

02/06/2009 (7:03 am)
@andrew - I mean a few maps included in the pack, like the one above - showcasing how you can use the textures to good effect.

@ Jaimi
Yes, I could do that. I could expand this pack to include several Dif segment files as well then. I then could make several in varying styles that people can mix and match as they see fit. I would also include the .map files so people can alter lighting/textures/design as they so desire.

This could end up being a very large pack it seems lol. The only problem I would have doing this is who would want just textures and who would want just segments.

@ Primitive
My apologies; I have not had time to work on my site due to my attempts to complete some of these packs. I did receive several emails from people, but not sure which one would be yours. Could you identify your name from the email or send me another advising your username here so I can make the connection.

Thanks,
