TGE and Cirrus Skies on Windows7

Happy New Year!

I'm way overdue for my annual "been too busy to accomplish anything this year" blog... Actually I *did* accomplish a lot this year, and have some big GG-Community news waiting in the wings. In fact I might have a product-release announcement any day. You'll all just have to wait and see!

In the mean time, I DO have a screenshot of Torque running on Microsoft's Window's 7 (beta)!

So there it is, your first look at TGE running on Windows 7, it worked out-of-the-box. Only been running the beta 1-day, but *so far* I have to say I'm impressed. In fact I'm going to go on a limb and say Windows-7 has the *potential* to become the best release of Windows since Windows98. Since I have to use the OS every day, I'm ecstatic at the thought of doing Torque development, without wanting to *jump out* my Windows(tm). Just wanted to share the good-vibrations, before I click back to reality. ;-)

Heya, TGEA runs just as fine, tested it; The only drawback is that the mission loaded only with the observer camera. W7 might be as advertised from what i've seen so far and tested.

Cool! I'm anxious to try W7 myself. Probably will look to move when it's released.

Cool indeed. But recognizing your name (long time fan of Enviro-Torque) and seeing

is what caught my eye.

I'm afraid I'll have to disagree there, personally I find XP to be a much better and more rigid operating system to use, I don't miss DLL hell, Fat32 and regular crashes that were seen all too often in 98.

Great news that TGE runs fine on Windows 7 though, it is a platform I'm looking forward to

Agree with you there. But remember XP was a disaster when it released, causing Server-2003 to be postponed for two years and Windows-98 EOL to be extended until July of 2006. Those who put XP on a pedestal now are neatly forgetting it took YEARS to mature.. Thus I cited win98.

I posted 2 screenshots of TGE and TGEA running on windows 7, about 2 weeks ago.

Can't find the damn post now :(

I'm kinda liking Windows 7.. or Vista 2.0 as most are calling it :)

Sweet! Where did you get the system-mon gadgets?

They are gadgets that you get from the gadget add-on site from Microsoft.com They work with both vista and windows 7 and in both Oses you can have them float anywhere on the desktop you want.

Probably the best release since XP ; Support for biometrics and GPS is what bothers me though..
