TCWDT for TGEA 1.7 [Call for beta testing]

Congratulations to GG's team for the final release of TGEA 1.7.

At ArrowMaker Productions, we've been busy integrating our tool into TGEA 1.7.

ArrowMaker Productions is happy to announce our latest product; the Torque Collaborative Design World Tool for TGEA 1.7.

The Torque Collaborative World Design Tool (TCWDT) is unlike any other games level design tool. For the first time ever multiple indie level designers can join together sharing the same virtual space and time, to create and manipulate a level simultaneously in real-time from anywhere in the world.

This new collaborative world design tool will allow for better communication between level designers; to make the level design process as easy and fluid as possible. We have also included many improvements and tweaks to the World Editor making design more efficient and intuitive.

One main strength of TCWDT is it does not require a dedicated server setup. Any level designer can easily setup and host a level. Once hosted, clients with prior authorization can access the hosted level and share the assets for further collaborative level editing.

Perhaps one of the best things about the tool is you can contribute! We would love to hear your feedback as well as ideas for new features that you would like to see added. We want to see the process of level design streamlined and the quality of design brought to the next level. You can help.

We are still conducting beta-test on all versions of the TCWDT. Feel free download it here.

Please provide your comments, feedback, feature request and questions on our support forum, email or simply post it here. We look forward to hearing from you.

Very nice. Is this going to be free?

I watched the video and it looks great. One suggestion I have would be to make an "align to terrain" or at least "drop to terrain" option to easily move objects that are up in the air directly onto the terrain.

Matt,

Thanks. BTW, we do have drop to terrain in the latest release of TCWDT for TGEA 1.7.

This is a nice and useful tool.
I will be glad to help beta test it, and will download it today.

Pretty cool, but doesn't seem to work in Vista, assuming whatever encryption/protection frontend you're using isn't fully compliant

Hello, I see that this product is now available for sale:

http://www.garagegames.com/products/314/

My question however is not covered in the product description. Is the source included for this? We're making significant modifications to the engine. When we beta tested this before, it required that we used a Stock copy of TGEA for it to work, it would not run with our modifications. We need the source to be able to make it work for us. We're very definitely interested in this collaborative editor, please let me know if it includes source at your earliest convenience.

Thank you!

BTW we will be using it in 1.8.1 hopefully it will work with that iteration of the engine?

We have questions about the licensing as well. I have been to your company website where the "Contact Us" page leads me to a Forums page that has NO POSTS at all, and tells me that an administrator must approve my account before I can log in. I can not find any way to email you. Can you please contact me so I can find out which licensing option will be best for my team, and find out also if it will even work with TGEA 1.8.1? Would appreciate some customer service.

Thanks,
-Sparkling
