Improved Input System and Bug Fixes!

Back in May we released iTorque 1.5 Preview 1, with GameCenter Support. Today, with the release of Preview 2, we are adding an improved (and expanded) Input System. Features include:

  • Robust touch support, including much improved multi-touch!
  • Enhanced accelerometer handling
  • Gyroscope support – brand new to iTorque!
.... all cleanly wrapped up in a redesigned input layer. In addition, we fixed a number of bugs to the editor and much more.

Download Preview 2 today!

1. Buy iTorque if you haven't already!
2. Log in to the GarageGames website.
3. Go to: My Account > My Products > iTorque2D Download

Then, download the Preview Release and have fun.

Where to learn more about Preview 2

Our official iTorque documentation will not be updated until the final, fully QA'd version of iTorque 1.5 is released. That doesn't mean we are going to leave you to figure it all out on your own. CLICK HERE for a sticky thread we've created on our forums that contains more detailed information on Preview 2. We will be monitoring that thread to answer your questions.

You can also track GG news, announcements and development through our Twitter and GarageGames Facebook Page

What's Next?

Universal app support, high resolution rendering (retina) and more bug fixes. Onward!

Obligatory Image
Unlike the last preview showing Game Center support, I don't have a flashy image for this release. Rather than a screenshot of text output, I'll just post a picture of how the development process works:

I want to thank everyone who provided feedback, helped with usability analysis and provided the foundation for this release. Edward Maurina's improved multi-touch resource was the basis for the code in this release, so you will see the // EFM comment in iTorque 2D. Thanks Edward =)

I also have the money to purchase iT2D right now, but not sure if I should buy it now or wait for 1.5. If recent buyers get a free upgrade then I would purchase it right now. Will 1.5 be released within the $99 sale?

Whatever the answers be, your the best!

Keep tabs on the site. We'll be posting updated pricing info on all our products soon.

Regarding iTorque version 1.5, I can tell you this much now. It certainly won't cost you MORE to buy now vs later... it will either be exactly equal or it will be slightly less expensive to buy now. (and "slightly" means slightly. it will pretty much be a wash if you buy now vs later).
