Today, InstantAction informed employees that it will be winding down operations. While we are shutting down the InstantAction.com website and Instant Jam game, Torquepowered.com will continue to operate while InstantAction explores opportunities with potential buyers for Torque. We thank all of our past and current customers for their support.

I've loved working for GG/TP/IA since 2007, and being involved in the community many years before that. While the announcement is definitely a sad announcement, I have gotten a chance to work with a number of extremely dedicated and wonderful professionals in the industry.

We seriously need a Q&A page; especially regarding the licensing.

Good luck finding work, I hope the community manages to hold down the fort so no products get stranded.

[quote}What exactly does this mean now for further development of T3D and the other engines? Is Torque in danger of being out of business soon? Or is it only the instant action portal?[/quote]

It depends. If it winds down operations and if a large sum of employees decide to leave to look for other positions, then at the very least further work on the engines may slow down (or stop all together in the worst case scenario).

Some large company with deep pockets will snap Torque up in a heartbeat I predict. It's been around for a long time, has great name recognition and a huge customer base...
On 11-11-11, I bet we'll all still be here. Let's check back in a year and see if I'm right!

Just give us a little time guys. We just learned this about an hour or two ago. We'll get your questions answered.

What the eff we are in the middle of a multi million dollar project that has almost another year of development and polish left to go.

Can you clarify wtf is going on? so is everyone fired and the website is still going to be up. does this mean that all work on T3D ceased an hour ago? What the hell?

@James,

Same questions here too. except we were hoping to get beta out in 2 weeks.

Now we may need to rethink things.

That is not really an option and not something I can tell our client we are over a year into this thing and well over a million dollars spent so far!

@James - Please calm down. This is a rough day and a lot of us are still absorbing information and trying to get answers together.

You will get your answers, just give it time.

Good luck to everyone at IA. I'm definitely sad to see you guys go. Any chance that we could get an archive of the forums and community docs put together so we don't lose those resources? I've had countless questions answered through cruising the forums.

We're also a year into our project and can't change paths now. This is all deeply worrying!

You will probably still be able to work on your projects. There just won't be any updates to the engine.... but you have the source...
