- Summary:
- My strengths lie in analysis and base creativity so I try to leverage that in my initial game development efforts as well. This has definitely been a factor in choosing to work with the Torque engine. There simply isn't a better technology out there for networked 3D action game development at an affordable price.
I don't try to tackle a problem using brute force or sheer genious. (but we still need the "sheer genious" people!) Instead I try to build an overview of the problem and attempt to determine the most simple yet comprehensive (i.e. the most natural) method of addressing it.
It has been immensely helpful to draw on the experience, skills and expertise of others. Both the GG and Game Beavers communities have been gold mines in this regard.
I'm still developing the most fundamental skills, having tackled basic level and building design skills, basic AI player scripting and now moving to simple vehicle design. I don't hesitate to leverage the talents of others and I won't hesitate to purchase quality product packs which are useful and affordable. If the concepts which I currently have under wraps do make it to release you will definitely be seeing the talents of other developers displayed in the product.
