Pacifica: The Ocean Shores And Torque 3D V3
I can't believe it. Its finally done. Both version 2x and 3. I had no idea how much different the two are from each other. I personally would go for the 3x version. The global reflectance algorithm is substantially different There seems to be a more harmonious and subtle presentation all around. This could just be me of course; at first, I didn't even like this version ;) -
Pacifica: A complete list (with more screens -post effected)
While composing this list, it dawned on me that Pacifica touches just about every aspect that T3D has to offer. From skies and atmospherics to shaders, to decal roads, rivers, lights, fog et al. So here is a complete list with pics that have SSAO and other Post effects. Several river shots show how different normals work. I also describe how to mod the level fog so it fogs to the horizon at the end of this list. Give it a go, you might like the change... -
Pacifica Screen Shots
It was said that I need some screen shots before my project exists. Sum ergo cogitato sort of an affair. I have a philosophy of Naturalism in games. If something looks 'natural,' then it somehow feels 'right' to the player; even if the player can't quite place a finger on exactly why it feels more 'comfortable' or 'natural' even. The screen shots here are a fairly nice assortment of how natural-looking one can make this kit. -
Pacifica Going To Final Test
Pacifica is going to beta testers. As soon as I get the O.K. It will be released. Pacifica is weighing in at over 1 Gig. and is very maleable. As I take care of my site and Pacifica is under test, I'll be listing all it contains. For instance, all of the materials can be found and are categorized in the Material Editor. Each model has its own material-only textures are reused; this is for extra visual possibilities as you'll see. -
Building a level from scratch
Here's how Pacifica can be used. It starts with a completely black "world" and goes from there.
