Cross platform web?

by Jonathan Wood · in Torque 3D Professional · 06/01/2009 (8:53 pm) · 9 replies

A few questions, is the web deployment version cross platform?
When can I start to publish test content so that others can openly test it?
Thanks

No, its not sadly, as it seems to basicly download the entire game currently as the "plugin" which is a total waste. -_-

I think you can publish test content to others within the forum
http://www.garagegames.com/community/forums/viewthread/93483
But outside of this forum I don't know, but I would also like to know.

Also I have a question to add: Will the full release of Torque 3D have .cs.dso, I assume it dosn't have them at the moment as your not ment to publicly release a game over the web or such. (instead of just giving it to other T3D developers)

Yes, web deployment will be supported on the Mac. We're aiming for this to land in Beta 3

Looking forward to Beta 3 then, I am fine with full content downloaded to client since the end result is a faster running game, but it needs to work in multiple systems and browser configurations. I am working on a Facebook game and obviously the app would be in a public setting so I will have to hold off on Torque 3D until it gets out of beta then before trying to use it instead of Unity which is what I am using at the moment. The way the game is being built is that I can use either Torque 3D for my levels or Unity or a combination of both.

does that mean that Beta 3 reintroduces the OSX Platform code / support again into T3D? :)

I know now what I can do, deploy my web app and limit access to users who are in here with a. Facebook id, I'll do up a web demo for testing and post a special link here this link will be the activation link to the game for closed t3d beta owners, going to work on that authentication system now

I have a document I would like to send to GarageGames for their review for this deployment for authorization, who do I send it to? It is to get their blessing on the wording that will be for the authorized to view page with the agree clause. Basically there will be a link I post here in the threads which will take the user to a page where they have an agreement form to read and click on agree at the bottom, I just want to have the wording correct since this is closed beta.

try licensing@garagegames.com - looks like a licensig issue to me so that seems a good place 2 start
