Ninja Rally waiting for acceptance
by Dave Young · in iTorque 2D · 04/22/2009 (7:15 am) · 21 replies
My first iTGB Game, Ninja Rally, is waiting to be accepted. It's already been rejected once due to the "Large Image 512x512" needing to be the same as the icon, and once for a lack of notification to the player if a network was not present.
A site is up at ninjarally.com. The targetted release date went over by about a month but I think it was totally worth it thanks to a few weeks of testing and fixes and optimizations.

This looks great. Keep us informed when it goes live, but for the moment, I have it under the "In Progress" section of the Powered by Torque page.

Took 5 minutes to add some text there, now another week's wait.
All the art was done by Amber Okamura!

Ack! Another rejection. This time for not letting users know that their 'private data' will be made public.. ie a high score submission ;)Took 5 minutes to add some text there, now another week's wait.

Good to know another tidbit about how you should describe the friggin' highscore submission. You just saved me 2 weeks on if and when I release a game :)C'mon 1.2!

Amazing isn't it. They reject you for not saying the submitted high score is made public but, quite happily release a baby killing simulator, where you shake babies to death. Without so much as questioning the games content!
Apple really need to start taking their acceptance criteria seriously. Especially given how much money the app store is making them.

Actually theres a very detailed document, and what the ninjaRally guy didnt mention is the email specified exactly which section of that document was violated. The baby shaking thing was stupid but they give you all the information you need to know. Its pretty normal.

yeah, as far as I know there isn't any sort of TRC list available for the iPhone. If there is, I sure would like to know about it.

3.3.5 for the network usability, and the Handling Common Tasks section of the iPhone Human Interface Guidelines, and the iTunes Connect User's Guide.

The email specified section 3.3.6 of the Apple SDK for the privacy stuff, 3.3.5 for the network usability, and the Handling Common Tasks section of the iPhone Human Interface Guidelines, and the iTunes Connect User's Guide.

As expected, none of those documents or mentioned sections say anything about needing to include any information to the user about making a high score public.
The closest thing seems to be the iPhone Human Interface guidelines.

where is this document that contains the sections 3.3.6 and 3.3.5 located? I can't seem to find any Apple document on the iPhone Dev Site that has labeled sections.

Will you please elaborate on the details regarding the icon/logo? What are the requirements, what did you do wrong?
Thanks,
Johnny
