1.0.3 Status?

Any info would be great as this is some major downtime.

I'm not sure if there was a messup with the filename, or if the 1.0.2 update got removed from GG a while back.
I ran the game after unzipping, and started a game (without hosting multiplayer). I didn't touch any graphics or control settings.
First I flew a chopper in the water and did not eject. Player died, chopper exploded. No crash. Then I hopped in the HGT and drove it straight in the water, did not eject. Game froze up and I had to force the app to quit.

I just downloaded a fresh copy of the CSK from here at GG. The file download says: CombatStarterKit_1_0_1.zipI'm not sure if there was a messup with the filename, or if the 1.0.2 update got removed from GG a while back.

Thanks JP. It seems like it's related to the non-ejection then, I always ejected. I'll try going down with the ship tonight and see if I can grab it. If I can see the crash I can fix it :)

Is ther sever dump offering any information?

I believe I'm usung the latest release. I can't seem to recreate the freeze up not ejecting from the HGT. I start a dedicated server then join the server and drive the HGT into the water. Boom, kicks my player out and kills him. Game goes to the spawn in screen. Is ther sever dump offering any information?

If you think it will help, I can record a video of my desktop - showing my actions that crash the game. I will also upload my console.log file for you to take a look at.
It's been a while since I've gone through and tested all of the vehicles. It may very well be just the HGT that causes the crash. If that's the case, I'd be perfectly fine with just removing that vehicle from the game, as long as the other vehicles work ok.
That will have to be later tonight though, as I have to take care of that whole work during the day thing :P
Really appreciate you guys (and gals) looking into this.
*edit: One last note.. I do believe GG has an older version of the CSK up, as the horizon gauge is still backwards on the chopper. I believe that was fixed in an update.

I'm not connecting do a dedicated server. I just started up the game and entered the demo mission, without checking the box to Host a Server. Do you think it would be more stable if I were connecting to a dedicated server instead? I can say at this point I think this was a bad purchase for myself. Without being able to examine all the resources or having access to sufficient documentation it makes it very difficult for a hobbyist programmer like myself to make use of it.I really wish garagegames would bring back the user reviews. Also JP could you look in youyr player animations and verify that you have the back_4.dsq
Since that was the last input from the console might be a good place to start. I sure hope I didn't miss packing any of the necessary animations.

CodyAllan what can I help you with? Oh and I wasn't suggesting that the issue wasn't happening elsewhere. Just that I wasn't able to reproduce it for whatever reason. I can completely understand what you are thinking right now, as a fellow hobbyist and as the sole member working on my project this "kit" is not what it said it was (and technically fu**ed us all), however there are still some of us trying.
I myself am trying to get all the code from CSK back into TGE1.5.2.

If a resource needs explaining better I will post what I can here and add the information to the resource update.

CSMP What did we do wrong? This was designed for hobbyist. We did our best to build a set of resources that could be used by everyone from beginners to professionals. I have been trying to catch up with the postings here but maybe I missed a few. If you explain to me what you don't like about the features of the Combat Kit I will do my best to resolve the issues.If a resource needs explaining better I will post what I can here and add the information to the resource update.

3.How were we supposed to know you were not ripping us off if we didnt know what was happening??
4.Your complete product (which I'm still not sure of yet) has taken 1 full year to be completed... Beyond the release date of the product, now I dont know about you but I would tell people on the sales page that a product is not complete and incorporate an Early Adoptee program like Tweaker to harness the consumer and create a better product.
What did you do wrong????

I have a programer working on adding better physics for the vehicles in ck but I have no eta on the work being completed. I do have the hover jet and mobile rocket launcher ready. There are just a couple tweaks that need to be done. I will get a complete ckv.1.03 to Garage Games within the next few days.

An update on the work to solve the crashes: the iPhone app still isn't out (deadlines keep moving) but I was able to reproduce the crash finally last night so have a foothold to troubleshoot.

OK, after driving many many many times into water I can not get it to crash now, using the 1.03 code changes which have been included in the art download! Try em out, let me know if it clears up for you also.
