How Do I Disable This Constructor Feature...

by Brian Wilson · in Constructor · 01/07/2009 (2:17 am) · 6 replies

Somehow during my editing of building, I turned on a feature that only allows me to manipulate the Faces and Vertices of objects that I have selected in Brushes mode. The unselected brushes are protected in Faces and Vertices modes. This is quite annoying having to switch in and out of Brushes mode to slect the brushes I want to work on.

I know it's probably just a hotkey, but I can't find where this is toggled, or even what it's called.

Thanks in adavance for your help.

If your using an older version of constructor I think that was just how it came, you had to select the brush before being able to select and edit the face/verts. However if you are using the newest version of Constructor (1.0.5.1 on Windows) I've found errors can occur in export if you haven't selected the brush first before editing the faces, and that it can also mess up your map file. So I always try to select ALL brushes before working.

You could try SHIFT CTRL L (Unlock ALL)- but that's a wild stab in the dark.

Yeah, I'm using the latest build and it's not a lock issue. I'll keep looking for it... I have been getting lots of map errors lately that I never got in older versions, I'll try the select all and see if I have better results...

In preferences, I believe it is the lock the brush checkbox.

In the preferences tab under the Brush Display section, make sure "Lock to selection" is unchecked. That'll solve your problem.
