Activision + Vivendi/Blizzard = ???

Ok, so apparently the Activision/Blizzard/Vivendi merger is officially official, completed.
And also apparently, quite a few projects got the axe.
Gameplayer has an interesting list here: http://www.gameplayer.com.au/gp_documents/Developers-for-sale.aspx?Page=1
But the really interesting part is on page 4: http://www.gameplayer.com.au/gp_documents/Developers-for-sale.aspx?Page=4
The Sierra entry lists all the game franchises currently held by Sierra, which apparently defaults to Activision now. All of them not currently under development, and the article writer hazards a guess that they could soon come up for sale at bargain bin prices.
Number 2 on the list ring any bells?
Personally I'd find it really poetic if GG got ahold of that license.
Others on that list are ones I'd love to see get picked up by active studios. I played Caesar before I found Simcity. The Leisure Suit Larry series has always entertained, even Magna Cum Laude was worth it.
Ahh, Kings Quest 6 and it's Dangling Participle...

Great game, but not Tribes.

No disrespect intended, but Legions definitely isn't a Tribes replacement.Great game, but not Tribes.

I'll have to agree with Maxwell, Legions definitely doesn't feel right as a Tribes clone. I tried Legions through out the years and never quite made it to me for a Tribes replacement, so instead I continue to play Tribes 2 occasionally. :)

Mmm...Police Quest

@All
My personal favorite is Space Quest. Roger Wilco is an awesome game character and the storyline for each series was very funny and quirky. I loved all the ways you could get killed in that game and how they would rub it in your face, or how if you tried to lick your own butt or face, grab your crotch, or anything out of the norm, the narrator would jump in and say something like, "I wouldn't do that if I were you, you don't know where you have been". Hilarious!
Kings Quest was ok, but not as good as Space Quest or Police Quest.

WARNING! MY OPINION KICKS IN OVERDRIVE HERE, SKIP THIS IF YOU ARE EASILY UPSET WHEN OTHER PEOPLE GIVE THEIR OPINIONS
Tribes in my opinion is an old concept that shouldn't continue to be regurgitated. I'm a huge fan of FPS games. For example I played thousands of hours of Quake, Quake2, Quake3, QFusion (using the fusion bot I wrote). But by the time Quake4 came out, I was soooo tired of the same stuff over and over, it just didn't do it for me. I played the crap out of Unreal, it added a few extra features that Quake didn't have, but it got old too.
By the time Halo came out I was so sick of the exact same concept FPS games being pumped out that I couldn't even play it. I picked up the controller a couple of times for Halo before I was just disgusted with it. Yes Red vs. Blue fans, I hate Halo... It sucked! It had the same weapons as most other FPS games. Vehicles were nothing new. It didn't offer anything new. If I hadn't played all the other FPS games out there, like Wolfenstein, Doom, Duke Nukem, System Shock, Quake, Unreal, Half-Life, or the other 30-40 FPS games mixed in there over the years, Halo might have been cool.
Games like these need something new and fresh. New ideas and concepts, can help revive the old FPS. Changing the way the characters and weapons look doesn't make the game any better. Changing the gameplay dynamics totally makes a FPS worth playing in my opinion. Let tribes die. It's an old concept that has been redone so many times it's just not even fun any more.
On the other side of the coin, some people like being repetitive and are amused over and over by the same thing. To these people I say go pick up one of the new "Tribes" clone FPS games and be happy. Unreal did a good job of it. Vehicles, bases to assualt, jetpacks, teleporters, modifiers, etc. You can't go wrong with Unreal if you are a hardcore Tribes fan.

You may be confusing Legends with Legions--Legions has only been available for a few months, and only on InstantAction.com.

There are 2 games I'd love to have control of. World In Conflict and the new Ghostbusters game though it'll probably be a pain with the licensing.

It appears Legions is only available via instantaction and since it is web based definitely won't even bother. All games that run through web browsers seem to require far too many resources and end up crashing firefox after a while on me. Will there ever be an option on instantaction to instead download the game and then run via a launcher, aka copy cat of Steam?

Indeed I did meant Legends, I knew it was something like that. :PIt appears Legions is only available via instantaction and since it is web based definitely won't even bother. But seriously....it's a fun (and ski friendly) game available on a new platform. Give it a shot! =)

@Nathan - Oh if you only knew how many hours I've put into InstantAction. Legions, Rokkit Ball, MB, etc. It always bothers me when someone says "I won't even bother" when it comes to games. In other aspects of life, that phrase might be viable. But seriously....it's a fun (and ski friendly) game available on a new platform. Give it a shot! =)
