I have no idea where to start, I have MMO ideas, but no crew or server to start it up.
I have a "surviving zombie onslought" idea basing it in a warehouse type building and a city.
I have a RTS game, but no money to spend on the starter kit thing.
I have the motivation to come up with ideas concepts, creatures, vehicles, buildings, weapons, maps, the works! Just, I dont really have time, money, or a crew (O.O since i cant even afford a car >.<) to really produce anything.
Any Ideas on where I should start?!
I was thinkin the Zombie game, ^.^ i like scary horror games that make you jump, and i got lots of surprizes if knew what I was doin with this torque constructor and game engine O.O i dont even know what to open up to script my stuff

of the homepage or you can just buy a kit to get started. If not useful buy and
use game programming books that are really useful at times, you could buy on
amazon.com, ebay.com, or any other game development website.
(Note to self not all websites charge people, some allow you to download for free)

If you want to add on to the game idea with "zombies"...look at games like Left 4 Dead,Resident Evil or Dead Space for ideas. Many other sources to get you started is game design and programming books for types of things you want in a game, toolkits are good, and check websites for tips and help for game design...tutorials in other words.Good luck ^^

I never really got into half life, but from what i played of it, you have a strict little path to fallow, and theres not as much as you can do with your surroundings at any point in time. The game I am planning on making takes place in a city, and you can go anywhere, do anything, and set up bases just in case you cant return to your main base if things start to get to hairy. Also, you will be able to set up traps on certain roads, doors, hallways, wherever, to kill off a few "zombies" getting to close to your hide out. But that will result in a few more coming to the noise in hope for some new food.

The best thing you can do is to get it all written down. Write it down in details and sketch things out for every game idea, it will give possible partners a better idea of what you mean, and it's a great base to generate new ideas from!
-On the side, start small and get to know the tools, ( -rewrite your ideas or rewrite the tools ;-) ) even a small project may take a year or so of your time...
When you're good and ready, out of the drawer comes your old ideas for a dustoff...

Torque 3D Owner Max
To start off, check out the Tutorial that came with Torque. It'll show you some about the editors, and a little about scripting.
If you're not the tutorial kind of guy, try modifying the scripts of the starter.fps kit.
Crimson Editor is my preferred tool for editing script files. It's free, and has a lot of functionality on it.
Constructor just needs practice. What I did to improve my skill, (still working...) is look at picture of a real structure and try to copy it in Constructor. Your first attempt probably won't look quite right, but you'll definitely learn a lot about the tool. Just practice, practice, practice.
