Ok, so i have done around 50% of the porting process of the FPS and Racing kits and even the "Demo" of the
TGE content/starter.kits and no response at all ??
I am doing alot of work here and i was hoping i could get an answear atleast since i know this will save GG alot work and frustrated users.

Is this fourm still monitored ?

I completely understand your frustration... this seems like a simple enough question. Though I can't speak for GG I will only point out a couple observations.

First, a couple years ago GG was offering bounties to developers to accomplish this type of work, so I can only imagine that it is fundamentally okay.

Second, looking to TGEA (at the time TSE), Joseph Helm released the same starter kits to the public. (see this for example...). As far as I know there were no threats or criticism coming from GG to discourage this. In fact, note the comment "Once again, thanks! We really do appreciate the effort."

Third, as far as I can tell from the EULA, you are within your rights to port the starter kits and release them to the public, as long as they are free (not commercially released)... mainly because all art assets are freely downloadable from the TGE demo and the code you are adding is your code, not internal Torque X Framework code.

Again, I can not speak for GG, but I highly encourage you to continue your effort. I know that many Torque X developers would really appreciate getting a hold of these two starter kits and find them to be very valueable, as would I. Good Luck!

Alienforce,
i also think it would be a real great contribution to the community. Specially if the code is well documented. I think it could help to push TorqueX even more, because now there are not that many learning materials available. Don't give up....the community needs such things.
Besides that, i hope GG continues to release more tutorials like they did already for Torque 2D and don't make the same mistake with TorqueX as they did with TGE(A).....providing not enough documentation/examples/tutorials.

Sorry for the lack of reply, Alienforce.

Absolutely it is ok (and much appreciated!) if you port over the TGE starter kits. To distribute, simply submit it as a code resource. (Or link from a blog or forum post as Joseph Helm did for TGEA, noted by John K. above).

Thanks, both from us at GG and also on behalf of all the Torque X users out there!
