Torque X Release and Torque X Builder Pricing

Just to keep everyone in the loop, here are two important announcements:
First:
As many of you know, we informally announced that we were shooting for the 15th for Torque X 1.0 release in this thred (please read). Well as it happens the powers that be have decided that TGB 1.5 will be released tomorrow instead and Torque X will now go out on Monday.
Why not release Torque X tomorrow and TGB on Monday?
1) TGB is being used by a ton of schools and we want to get them 1.5 ASAP.
2) TGB has been released before. This (TGB 1.5) is just an update, so all the stuff that's previously untested with Torque X (forum links, download pages, activation, everything) is less likely to blow up. If we release Torque X on a Friday and something doesn't work on the website, people won't be around on the weekend to fix it.
Second:
I mentioned that marketting was talking about dropping the price of TXB in this thread. We got the final word today and instead of dropping the price, there will be mutual ignition grants between TGB and TXB, so buying one will grant you access to the other. In short, if you were waiting for TX release to take advantage of the price change, you can go ahead and buy it now.
EDIT: For those who might not know, Creator's Club membership is what allows you to deploy your game to the XBox 360. The Creator's Club bundle download path is still pending, but hopefully all the remaining loose ends will be tied up soon. If you are a member or plan on becoming a member, DO NOT BUY TXB - you will get it free with your Creator's Club membership!
There you have it. If you have any questions about any of this, feel free to ask.
Thanks for your patience, guys.

Well, I signed up for the closed beta and now I have access to the TorqueX TDN page. However nothing is there at the moment.

Rick's on the case. We're hoping to have a solution figured out by tomorrow.

Well, as we get closer to the end of the day, it is becoming more likely that we will be pushing this to tomorrow. The problem we are trying to solve, for those that care, is the mutual granting of TXB and TGB. Purchase of TGB grants ownership of TXB. Purchase of TXB grants ownership of TGB. Unfortunately, since our system sees "purchase" and "grant ownership" as the same thing, that creates a nice little circular reference.Rick's on the case. We're hoping to have a solution figured out by tomorrow.

Basically, if I compared my average bowling score and my average Simian Escape score, I think it would be a close contest between the two...

While we may put some of the already existing (and delivered via the download) documentation on TDN, TDN is designed as a community contribution site, not a primary documentation mechanism from us, and you aren't going to see much, if anything right off the bat when it is opened.
What the expectation for TDN is is that over time, end users will populate it with work that they have done with Torque X, as well as additional features, tutorials, and possibly components, etc. that they have generated.
I just want to make sure everyone aware that there isn't anything in the "Torque TDN" that you don't have already--and to be honest, there won't be much content at all until the user community begins to work with it--that's what TDN's original purpose was, and how it's used with the other products.

I see "public access to TDN" keep coming up as a question, so I wanted to make sure there weren't any incorrect assumptions here:While we may put some of the already existing (and delivered via the download) documentation on TDN, TDN is designed as a community contribution site, not a primary documentation mechanism from us, and you aren't going to see much, if anything right off the bat when it is opened.

Do you have it on easy mode? =) The people who won first and second place at IMGDC (first place was an xbox 360 and second was an ipod shuffle) got around 1500 points. Gives you something to shoot for eh? ;)

How are you doing today rick?? You knew we would not stop pestering, didn't you?

With all that being said, and it being a comunity based project, why has it been locked down for so long?
Is it do to expected changes in code that would make some of the user posted stuff obsolete?
Just curious

It would make sense not to release a wiki that serves to help teach an engine before the engine is even released. Any changes to the engine could break what the wiki says and if the author isn't so inclined, it might not get fixed in a timely (or any for that matter) manner.

I know we have the same issue with outdated code on the TGB side of things on TDN.
I generally ask questions for the sake of understanding. not to accuse.
It's nice to know the logic behind how other companies base there decision.
just wanted to make that clear.

Keep in mind that TDN is a wiki. That means if you find inaccurate or outdated information you can just hit the "edit" link at the top of the page and fix it right there. Don't view the pages as sacred creations. They are meant to live and breathe with the technology and we all have a responsibility as a community to fix inaccuracies as we come across them.

Are there any new tutorials in this release? Also, will the torque x tdn page finally be open for non-beta testers?
