What on Earth is going on with these Forums?

I accidentally found these private forums today by following a link from a post in the public forums and I would REALLY like to know the reason behind this secrecy.
When a customer buys your product he should be given access to these forums automatically. For the past months we've been posting in the public forums and the lack of replies was really unsettling! Needless to say that we've stumbled upon several issues (of which some still remain unsolved), which I truly believe would have been taken care of with the help of more seasoned Torque programmers.
Please see my latest post in the public forums in case you can help:

Thank you in advance.

My previous experience with Forums though tells me that it shouldn't work this way. Besides that's not what a subscription usually is. What I did effectively changed the forums status from hidden to visible, so my question really is why should they be hidden in the first place?

Private forums is a place it is okay to post TGE/TGB/TGEA C++ source code. Since this code is what you are buying when you purchase a license, they don't want you to post that sort of code in a public forum, which would undermine their business, obviously.

Which is the exact reason I should be introduced to the private forums from the beginning, as I purchased the PRO version of TGB. I think we're saying the same thing here, Matt.

I agree, when you buy a product your forum subscriptions should change. It's unfortunate that you didn't find them earlier :(

Not all forums have adopted a Nukish feel and control scheme. The forums work as they were designed. It would definitely be nice if there was an auto-subscribe features when purchasing a product. I'm not sure if the way the forum system is designed, if it would be a major change to add it as a feature or if it would be a simple account flag.

When I bought TGE the forums updated for me automatically, that was a long time ago, when I bought TGB they never did but it really wasn't that hard to find where to change it

In any case, though I agree with what you are saying I would suggest when making a suggestion as well as asking for help you use a more professional and respectful tone. I have found that often gets better results in getting what you want.

What you say is definitely accurate and something we've wanted for a while... I've pinged someone about it. Not sure if this is something that has been done and simply didn't work or if it's something we haven't done at all.In any case, though I agree with what you are saying I would suggest when making a suggestion as well as asking for help you use a more professional and respectful tone. A forum specific search function would be nice too @.@.

"Torque Game Builder (TGB) Private Forums" "General Discussion"
Switch General Discussion out with whatever sub forum and then add your search words :)

You should have seen the search before, you'd type in "torque" and you get no results. :)
