My question is about the closed beta, I think I'm right in assuming this is the place to post my question. I have been using 1.0.2.8 for about 4 weeks now since GG said I could use it. But just yesterday I bought a new computer due to performance issues with my old laptop. Needless to say, it came with Vista. To my suprise, It doesn't allow me to install my TGBX pro. Now, I can install the old open beta. Also my projects that have tx pro in it will run. But I can't use the 1.0.2.8 editor due to an error message when i try to install. The message says this..
"could not run a scipt that comes with windows installer"
I talked to someone at garage today and they said I might have to get windows XP on my computer since everyone there is using XP, is that true?

Hmm.. I guess it would be too much to ask for TorqueX to come out in its final version the same week as the GDC.

Microsoft does not even currently support XNA/GSE on Vista (see the Creator's Club Forums, "XNA doesn't install? (on Vista)" thread.

It seems to be working ok, from the gse side of it. But that might be because I downloaded C# sp1 for vista.

Nevermind, I'm running TGBX now. I used the drag and drop method on the full extracted program from my laptop, to get it onto my new desktop, and it executes just fine.

You'll get a security prompt, so make sure you agree to it. This will allow you to install it on any version of Vista (other than a beta version, which I haven't tested).
One thing to note is that TGBX's resize/maximize ability doesn't function properly on Vista. Make sure you use the setres() function to change screen size. (not setrez() *whistles innocently*)
Edit: Oh yea, and XNA 1.1 is coming out next month and fully supports Vista.

You can install any version of TX/TGBX on Vista. To do so, you must run the executable for TX as an administrator. Simply browse the start menu to the command prompt, right-click and run command prompt as admin. Once the CP is up, simply browse to where the executable is for TX and run it.You'll get a security prompt, so make sure you agree to it. This will allow you to install it on any version of Vista (other than a beta version, which I haven't tested).

I followed all your instructions, except I had to rename the MSI file so I could recognize it from the C prompt..
