Make Rune 2 Petition

#1 Rune was and are a lovely game , i made lots of stuff for that game.
And from my experience rune players are the most conservative players i ever meet.
What really amaze me is why do they want rune 2.
Every server out in rune hosting at most 3 maps and the rune players don't like mods.
And another thing i really know about rune , most players use pirate copies and didn't buy the game , I really think HH would have done Rune2 already if everyone that played that game did buy it.

So tell the players in the forum go out and buy Rune and Runehov then HH have the founds for Rune 2 :)

All credits to Human Head they rock and have nice idea's.
Go and Sign and Buy if HH make it.

#2 Actually folks, Tgerr isent saying anywhere that they are going for 'The Gold' just spilling the usual gossip beans. And having the community geeks double or triple spam a petition arent getting that long awaited game anywhere.

The petition itself are not a HH'er but a dedicated fan that have the faith still (not like us other leavers) ;o)

BUT should thet manage to produce what we all await -and this time market it properly HH wil skyrocket -cause Rune 2 would be just as awesome and groundbreaking as Rune was.

#3 Hmm... I'm not suggesting anything malicious but...

What if they've already decided to do Rune 2 and are just using the petition as a form of marketing? That would be pretty damn brilliant marketing if you ask me! Would a thread about Rune 2 exist on this site if it wasn't for people trying to get others to sign the petition?

Internally in the Rune community I (Zaphirs_BlackOak) are pretty well known, have been center in some major community events and been leader of one of the most famed hordes.

So I think I can answer for the comunity, without stepping to much off the path.
What is the core dream of every Runer, if for Rune 2 to have same gameplay but a new netcode engine. The lag in Rune is horrible and killing the fun.

There are 2 threads in the Rune Forum that pretty much outlines what all the wishes are but it can be boiled down.
Melee combat as is -with same freedom of movement.
Maybe a stamina value to reduce the bunnies.
Maybe some missile weapons to accomodate larger battles.

Jeez..... I could go on and on ;o)

Pop by their forum and read those 2 threads (they are pretty long, and have some lamer spam) but are quite good.

#8 I agree with Christian here , and must add Rune is a personal game , i never played a game like Rune , people join for nice fights or for a nice chat.
And what's really lovely is that many girls play it to .
The community is great even if we hate each other sometimes :)

#9 I loved Rune and running it on a LAN at work was great. Lunch breaks never seemed to last long back then. :)

I don't know about the majority of the online crowd, but my co-workers and I all bought our own copies of it and considered it money well spent.

A sequel or 'spiritual successor' to it would be excellent.

#10 I don't know about multiplayer, I never really got into it that much, but my wishlist for the single player campaign is this:

*Some RPG elements, like dialog with NPC's, an inventory system(with armor showing on the character), simple but adds a lot of flavor
*More environments like another town that you can defend (13th warrior style), no more caves
*fewer animal enemies, more thinking, weapon-wielding bad guys for more interesting combat
*Same basic combat system, but with some new moves that you learn from NPC's during the game, possibly some weapon specific moves
*full collision detection (i.e. blocking an attack with your own attack, which I think Rune sortof had, but could be done much better now)
*an expanded rune power system, tying into the inventory system(scribe runes onto armor and weapons to enhance them or give them powers, etc)

#11 Rune was excellent... I've spent many hours battling it out on multiplayer. I also agree that the players are very friendly... We'd slash and hack and throw axes at each other, and no matter who won we were always laughing and joking about the lag, misses, etc.

Great fun. I look forward to Rune 2.

#12 I love Rune. I am reading Eaters of the Dead aka The 13th Warrior and I want another Rune game so bad! With what I have seen that Human Head has done with Prey... I am drooling and the thought of a Rune game on the Doom3 engine. Gods in Valhalla I want Rune 2 so bad!

What would we want from another Rune game or a 'spiritual' successor to Rune? More of the same!! I would play Rune 2 even if it was made with the old Rune unreal engine!
