Building a massive game based on a real life location... Need help

Hey everyone,
As with the title above, I'm creating a massive game in torque 3D based in the city I live in here in Australia. I have the Heightmap already imported into the game, and it's working brilliantly with no lag or anything.
What I'm wondering is if someone here might know how I can get real road layouts from Google Maps or similar as objects or something to avoid the massive task of having to lay down every road?
My map is roughly 100+km X 100+km and placing roads is/will be a big hassle to make sure they're in the right spot etc. I don't need all of them, just the main roads, like ones around the city and some country roads.
As for the rest of it, I'm planning to add basic driving and flying abilities for cars, bikes, boats and planes including damage physics (obviously not the same damage as Beamng Drive, but close enough to make it realistic)
I'm also adding a heap of buildings, which I'm still working on how I'll make them as I don't have a proper modelling program atm. I might end up commissioning someone to help me design the correct buildings for the landscape, but that comes later of cause.
This has been a project/game I've been wanting to make since I was about 14 or 15, all based on a book I've been writing for almost 10 years now. If it works out the way I'm hoping, it will be an amazing game.
I'll be happy to show some progress photos if anyone is interested, and in the meantime any help with the layout of roads or anything else will be much appreciated :)
Cheers in advance

There's been some attention paid to this with pulling geo data and stuff like that for a flight sim. You can check that out and post on the newer community forums at forums.torque3D.org :)

To be honest, I haven't used it myself, so I don't know how well it imports its assets into T3d, but it is on my shopping list.
