Game Help

by steven mcclain · in Torque 3D Professional · 03/12/2017 (2:17 pm) · 2 replies

So I recently was given game files from an mmo that use to run about 5 years ago. when I took possession of the games files. I am missing some of the server admin files, launcher codes, the php abstraction layer and the original database, though I did end up getting the basic empty database they used for the game. I don't have the most experience and this is really a hobby of mine until I get better but some pointers on where to start would be greatly appreciated

Have you made a game before? If not then don't do a MMO first. Otherwise if you are serious about making an MMO then this:
http://mmoworkshop.com/
place used to be where you could download the Torque 3D MMO kit.

You could contact: http://www.prairiegames.com/ and ask for a copy... I doubt they answer though...

T3D users now hang out here:
http://forums.torque3d.org/

However... this:
http://www.heroengine.com/
is one solution if you have a team ready.

Those:
https://unity3d.com/
or
https://www.unrealengine.com/

could also do it for you. But beware that making an MMO requires a huge amount of contents(hint hint, beside good gameplay code level design and art are a must and you need a huge amount of it).

Hope that helps

Despite the good recommendation of dwarfKing, if you still want to use T3D, you can start checking this links
